the Leeds lad Cook? not sure if he has recovered yet from the mystery illness that he was rushed to hospital with after collapsing while on the bench, another good young prospect

with Chelsea, and even possibly Man C having a 2 window ban, this is a window we have to really hope we go strong on and also sell the deadwood. with those 2 being banned, and Arsenal apparently being pretty skint (even though they have a different top player every day in the press), will leave us competing with Man U and Liverpool. I expect Man U to definitely go big in the summer, will Liverpool go big again? (ignore what papers say) they might feel the need for more depth RB, LB cover. CB or do they see Gomez in that roll.

At least Chelsea won't be nicking anyone off us at the last minute

and 21 is hardly a youngster lol. Should we make the move perm he’ll be pushing and/or turned 23 without having kicked a ball in a competitive league. About as random a signing as Southampton signing George Weah’s pretend brother lol

Daniel James is also English FA trained. He was at Hull City from 2006-2014 before he joined Swansea.

Grealish and McGinn (latter not HG) at Villa, Aarons and Lewis at Norwich, Kelly at Bristol City, Clarke at Leeds, James at Swansea, and Eze at QPR.

I was telling a mate of mine on Saturday that this guy looks really damn good. He reminds me of Andy Reid though, perhaps slimmer but there is potential for him to get fatter definitely.

I said in one of the article thread thingies that I think we will spend a fair bit this summer and whilst im up for one or two players like McGinn/Grealish i think we should be setting our sights slightly higher in terms of adding to the team itself. Money shouldnt be too much of an issue given our lack of spending last summer and the fact we should be bringing in around 120m this summer with sales of Eriksen and Toby plus the likes of Llorente, Wanyama, perhaps one of the full/wing backs.

Championship players for the squad but proven quality for the team - thats how im seeing it.

Whoever we do get I just hope they show real commitment to play for Spurs and don't just see us as a stepping stone to something better.

I think your assessment is right in that seeing as we are losing Eriksen and Toby we ideally need to bring in a ready made star - like Zaha, Ndombele, etc. Someone who isn't far away from reaching their full potential.

I've stated many times that I want us to focus on bringing in young blood (Grealish, Brooks, Sess, etc) but the danger with that is that some of them are far from the finished article and it's likely that they will need time, and time unfortunately would see us drop out of the top 4. Therefore, we need 1 or 2 who can step in immediately and maintain the strength of the first 11, whereas the younger prospects can focus on their development rather than expectations. That gives us a more seamless transition.

Like you say time isnt what we have. Having younger players is great but you cant have an entire team full of them... having said that we do have some good experience but really do think we need to buy one or two winners also.
