Just trying to do a quick bit of permutating and I reckon if we win two if our last three, we're virtually guaranteed top four. It would take either Chelsea or Man U (but both not possible as they're playing each other) to win all their games and also make up a huge amount of goal difference on us.

Two wins and a draw guarantees it.

Not counting chickens but it's looking good...

We need a right back that can take on a player.

KWP, he may be a bit of liability defensively at this point but he has shown guile, good dribbling and willingness to overlap. I was shocked and disappointed he wasn’t even on the bench, surely more useful attacking wise than having 4 defenders on the bench

I never said they didn't get what they deserved.
I said I can understand why they play like that against the top 6.

So I take it you were disappointed Chelsea didn't win last night then?
No it suited our cause, I can understand cfc fans feeling frustrated though.

Pretty appalled by some of the anti-Brighton remarks here. They're in a relegation scrap, and have every right to play as they see fit against CL semi-finalists playing in their new half billion pound stadium. Some perspective please.

Great provincial club with great traditions and a top man as coach.

What do people expect? Them to come here and play an open game and 3 upfront? They would be 3 down before half time. You can only play the cards you are dealt

Yeah, but tony what else do you expect them to do? With what's at stake? They have no choice. Especially in their situation. We have no right to criticise them for not playing the way we want them to play. As I said elsewhere - the entitled to fight for their slice of the pie in whatever way they see fit. What do you expect - that they'll come at us fully open and get a drubbing, screwing their GD with a three point gap to the last relegation place?

Put yourself in their position, with the millions of pounds that being in the PL brings. You'd do the exactly what Hughton did today. We all would.
Exactly, even if they lose they only go down 1/2 nil...if they go out all guns blazing their GD gets absolutely decimated over the course of the season.

I appreciate your opinion. They have man city and arsenal out of their final 3. I think if they do the same against them they'll come unstuck again. #relegated?

A pacy striker would have made fuck all difference tonight.

We need someone who can take on players from a standing start, like Ginola used to do. Hazard and sterling put defenders on their arses consistently.

This is the type of player we need.

A player with movement would have made a difference tonight. That’s a more realistic aspiration than Hazard, or man who is one loud bang away from dying.

They probably will, but they'll keep their GD down instead of getting smacked for 5 or 6 in each game.
That could be the difference between relegation or staying in the league.

Yes, possibly. But that's the nature of the game for them. They don't the resources of the Top 6, they can't go toe-to-toe with the elite clubs - they'd get rinsed.

The negative you should be focused on is how lopsided the league is and the disparity between the top and the bottom. That's the cause, not the smaller clubs doing absolutely anything they can to survive.

It's like criticising a starving man for not using a knife and fork to eat with.

I just want us to finish ahead of Chelsea for a sweet £20, hopefully finishing Champions of London...which is an imaginary title I made up to wind up Scum, Spam and Chelsea fans.

Would be interested to see how many times they've been hit for 5 or 6 this season. Theyre not a bad team tbf. I remember we squeaked It at Wembley against them and they attacked?

One thing that really infuriated me was Trippier receiving the ball in a crossing position and almost every time, passing it back inside! His only redeeming quality is supposed to be his crosses. If he refuses to do that then he really is useless
