We won't give them the run of the park for the first half next time and we will play Sissoko from the start and we will have Son so we are still well in this tie.

We all talk about squad and transfers which I don't disagree with, but do we truly believe anything is going to change this summer?
Every player who is linked at moment @JJetset is rubbishing or saying poch not interested, who are we after? I don't see anything changing but it ultimately could cost us this season as I am more worried about Sat at present then I am next Wed. Lose on Sat, then confidence is rock bottom for Wed 2nd leg but then needing to beat everton at home on last game of season, to think we could finish 6th still is rather demoralising.
The funniest thing about it would be Watford winning FA cup and Levy having to lose money with the tour as we ned to start Europa qualifications, he took a gamble in the summer and January and it could still backfire.
Huge game on Sat and we should al concentrate on that game first, win it and great we can relax and go into Wed with confidence, lose and its unthinkable... as for summer - trippier will hopefully be sold aswell as some other dead wood and we will make some quality signings, this squad badly needs help

Absolutely. 100%. ???

They had a full week's rest and are at full strength, we had 4 games in 10 days in the matches before this one.

Eriksen, Alli and Trippier!! Dogshite again! Everyone else gave it some in the 2nd half apart from those three!!
Disagree on Eriksen, he's trying to make something happen he's just not at the top of his game. Alli incredibly frustrating. Trippier not good enough.

I just don't understand how you can get ro a semi final and then some players play like absolute tosspots. One of the biggest game of their lives and they don't turn up and at home too.

Maybe they’re just not good enough? I know we had Kane and Son out which any team would miss, but when you look at the disparity between their movement and technical ability on the ball it’s like chalk and cheese.

Can’t fault the effort, but there was a huge lack of quality all over the pitch.

The problem with 3-5-2 is that when it comes up against a 4-3-3 (as again tonight) the centre backs immediately call the wing backs to tuck in and it becomes 5-3-2. You then have their fullbacks open to switch the play to constantly, our cm3 chasing across to cover and eventually cant keep doing this, and the opposition drag them about until gaps open up in more dangerous areas. Then when we get the ball, it becomes so hard to build attacks when we have so many players back in defensive areas, and being very narrow.

It's got to be knocked on the head, I just don't like how it plays out.

Pochettinho has said the formation was wrong so it's difficult to argue with that. I felt the personale was wrong. No point going into detail.

Our full backs ain't good enough including Danny Rose who for the moon in the sky can not cross a damn ball. Trippier is just all round poor it's not worth saying anything about him

Ajax at times looked sensational but there was chances for us to win. Pochettinho I thought made a mistake not getting Alli closer to Llorente Eriksen dropping to where Alli was asked to play. I was hoping to see Vertonghen as a wingback in this game especially with Llorente up front he is the best wingback at the club.

All said and done we are still in this game
Would love it if we sold Tripps to Yanited for big £££s!!!

Foyth should start over Trippier for the foreseeable future!
You know how poor a full back is when a centre back is replacing him and subsequently attempts to beat his man twice in 5 minutes, which the fullback didn’t even try once in 80 min!

Even before the hand injury he was poor...been his worst season so far for sure. He is young and there is a world class talent in there if he wants it.
Perhaps you are unfamiliar with my typical Dele-stance. Let's just say that I'm OG. But harsh internet bullies nice folk like @Gb160 have made known that they are people that know people and he would send some wrong'uns my way if I didn't buck up my ideas me aware of the positives of his play and asked that I focus on those. So I'm protecting my life and limb being positive in the face of whatever negatives that may arise.

Clearly the back three didn't work and Pochettino admitted as much. He got the tactics spot on against City but got them wrong today. Having said that I still think they would have started with Sissoko if they were sure he was 100%. We started this season with 11 players in the WC semi's, it was never going to look too rosy by this stage and we are literally the walking wounded. Trippier was poor, but he has been suffering from a chronic groin issue since the WC. Fully fit and he is quality. Dele Alli was poor, but having to play in a position which doesn't really suit him, plus he is playing with a broken hand. I though Llorente put in a good shift, and in the second half he had some great moments. If Trippier or Rose had been better with their final delivery you play to Llorente's strengths and bring Moura into the game.

Ajax deserved that but I think we can take some encouragement from the second half performance. Get at them and anything can happen. They look shaky at set peices as well. Sissoko changed the game for us.

Have to say hats off to Ajax, that first 30 Minutes was sensational. Best I’ve seen an away side play for against us for a few seasons.

Son back next week will help a lot

But I think at the end of the day today shows how much we miss out top players but also shows that our back up or a couple of first teams players whilst good enough for top four, if off their game not good enough for league wins or big trophies. For example foyth has outshone trippier in a position he doesn’t even play in.

Positives . Sissoko .

Decent. Moura- showed loads of effort and passion could have used the ball better a couple of times but anything good going forward came from him

Llorente - despite frustrations made things happen. Felt he could have held the ball up better - but that is down on Poch as it was clear we wanted to move the forward quickly when all we needed was the bring others into the game

Rose - plenty of passion but little end product

Sanchez - been impressed with him over the last month. Reading the game well and it seems turning into a natural leader.

Why do people keep saying 2-1. All we need to do is win there.

I don’t think you can underestimate how shit we were until Sissoko came on and we went to 4 at the back. Poch made an absolute shit show of that starting formation, glad he knows it.

Once we sorted ourselves out there was absolutely nothing that told me we couldn’t go there and win. 1 game, nothing to lose, Son back, Sissoko from the start.

I have a lot of hope, feel like we got away with one tonight after that first 30 mins

Disappointing thing is that we didn't even make it hard for them[/B]. Gave up an away goal extremely early in the tie. Predictable.

On the way back from the game. Obviously disappointed but actually thought second half performance was ok and we put them under pressure. As others have said we are still in the game.

Great atmosphere tonight also. Particularly in the second half.

Poch tactics at fault tonight. Yes, Trippier, Alli crap but Vic was struggling in first half as he was outnumbered because of our formation. Another one Poch has to take on the chin. If we do qualify for final, it could be embarrasing if Barca get through.

Lucas wasnt decent, but feel we are not utilising him correctly.

Only one team has ever progressed after losing the home tie 1-0. So we basically have zero chance. But as those were the same odds we had to progress after 1 point from three group games, and the same odds we had to beat City, I am quietly confident.
