With the amount of time Kane seems to miss each season now, I think that’s a good idea.It sounds as though we are looking at back up striker, then, and not just wing-forward.

While Son is useful up front I still think we could really use another option as a backup/alternative to Kane. Llorente just doesn't have the speed or the energy to impact a lot of games and, while he's done a job for us this season, I think it's really time to let him go. He has 2 goals in 36 league appearances. Admittedly most of them were off the bench, but that's clearly not good enough.
If we had another forward option who could reliably fill in and score a few, we could actually rest Kane on occasion and have a real threat to bring on in matches if Kane isn't at his best.
I'm not sure if Maxi Gomez is the answer but I'd still prefer to have him or someone similar over either Llorente or relying on Son as a backup striker. I love Son but he doesn't provide any presence in the box so we have to completely change our style of play when he leads the line. This works sometimes, but if we're up against packed defences (which are often are) we're left hoping he can pull off a 20 yarder - which isn't always possible, especially when he's blowing cold and falling over his feet.

He’s been huge for us in the CL but if we’re brutally honest, his general performances for the most part have been pretty woeful. Still love the guy though.Sky Sports saying we are still considering offering Llorente a one year extension after the CL Final, I think I'd prefer that if a deal could be done (depends on Llorente's preference I suspect). Use the money elsewhere and see where Parrott is at after next season.
100% agreed here, we should be aiming for better. He’s been huge for us in the CL but if we’re brutally honest, his general performances for the most part have been pretty woeful. Still love the guy though.

Look mate, I don't care what anyone says but my blood always has and always will run *googles Celta Vigo* light blue.Sometimes, guys, you don't have to pretend that you watch Celta Vigo all the time.
Maybe, nothing against him but I do we let him go and bring someone else inI'm thinking more along the lines of us considering offering him to stay for a lower wage! (Hence letting the option expire)

Backup striker is a priority over LB so long as Rose is here.Ideally we 100% need to improve on him, but in terms of priority I have:-
CM (ball playing)
CM (defensive)
RB
LB
CB - if Toby goes
AM - if Eriksen goes
WF - we need another Son level player to help bridge that goal gap to City/Pool IMO
GK - Homegrown 3rd choice
All above improving on Llorente's current niche role.

What do you mean !!
