Lucas must be fuming. Imagine getting us there and not starting. Kane comes back from injury and gets straight in.

Well he had the two best chances of the night and unfortunately didnt make them count. So i feel he shouldnt feel too pissed about it

I held about 30 people at full time to tell them it’s ok. They were crying and so sad at the stadium. I felt like it was my duty to hold total strangers and not let them worry and be sad. I love this club and I love you all, I prayed and it wasn’t good enough. Our time will come I promise! COYS

So.... expect a lot of transfer activity now. ITKs have been holding news back until after the result but things are going to start moving now. Onwards and upwards.
Hope so we need a few tweaks and we can get back here.

I disagree but respect that you backed up your rating.

I felt like Kane was a passenger and didn’t show or offer anywhere near enough to justify the faith tha was put in him.

I also don’t think he is fit, he was constantly on his heels, not ready or capable of sprinting or react to situations

You can only assume that he showed enough in training for Poch to think he was fully fit. He said in the pre match interview that Kane was fully fit. Maybe it was the heat, or the occasion, but he was very disappointing. Son didn't do much either and Moura wasn't great when he came on.

If he didn't start, he should have come on at half time. Deserved to play. Son has been poor for a while now. I understand starting Kane, even tho I wouldn't have. But Lucas had to start.

Long time lurker, first time poster.

We should all be proud of the lads ffs, this season we had 9 players play in the latter stages of a world cup, had less than a pre season, had multiple long term injury issues throughout the year (Inc. the walking wounded in trips and dele etc) and still managed top 4, navigating a move between stadiums, domestic cup semi finals and getting to the CL final.

We got to the Champions League final! How many clubs can say that at all. Yes we were unlucky in the end this time, we were the better team (imo) but it's not always the best team that wins unfortunately for us in this case. We all saw the team limp over the line towards the end of the season, like a car run out of petrol but we'll be better. This team, this club has so much going for it that it feels like the sky is the limit. We've shown the world who we are and we should be proud.

Players will go and players will come (hopefully!) But we do not need to rip the guts out of the squad, Poch needs to be clever, address certain areas but imo we need to keep the core of the squad intact. More importantly we need to keep the mentality both in the squad and in the stands.

Tonight is tough. So tough to take, but take it we will, we'll learn, we'll grow and our time will come again, so we need to take the night, blow off steam then tomorrow get back on the fucking horse and next time we won't need a miracle run to get us there. Next year, we go again!

COYFS!!

I said before the game Kane should start on the bench, I was right. He was never going to get any joy out of vvd.

Moura running at and behind them would have been wiser.

Limp game, killed by the penalty and heat I suppose.

Let's just get on with the squad overhaul now. I'm looking forward to the new season, going to be a long off season

Fuck me. Some of you need to grow up. That's a tough one to take, but we're not arsenal. We don't have a squad of complete shit. Some perspective is needed.

We are in literally the same position Liverpool were in last season. We've been told Poch will be backed. We aren't far away. Let's finally have a spend up, freshen up the squad and go again next season.

We didn't play well and didn't do enough to deserve to win but fuck it. Don't throw away the journey to get there, or the experience it will bring them.

Then the sports science team have a correlation problem because if Kane passed the fitness tests, the tests we are using are wrong.

Shit result and way to lose. But it’s clear... we can play against anyone, but to win and keep winning? We need more. We can be the club we want to be and it’s not far off. I really hope our board has the right vision.

We’re close to being a big player, nows the time to double down.

Moura hindsight?? He just scored a CL semi hat trick to get us there and then an unfit Kane comes barging back into the team. It seems Poch just doesn't have the courage to leave him out even though we all know how shit he is when he comes back from injury.
Moura should have started. Not an emotional decision, not a decision based on hindsight but a decision based on human empathy and an appreciation for what someone had achieved to get us to the final. If a Harry is as humble as Poch says he is then he would have understood why he didn’t start. But how much confidence would Lucas have got from being given the nod ahead of Kane. Kane could still have been brought on at half time to score the winner!!!! Having said all of that I thought we played ok and restricted them to very little but we didn’t create a lot and that is with Kane, Son, Dele and Eriksen starting. Most fans would have gone with that. Hopefully a painful learning experience for all concerned.
