Tottenham legend Ledley King insists the club do not need to win a trophy this season for the campaign to be a success.

As a club ambassador he's hardly going to say "Spurs need to win something or they'll always go down as bridesmaids".
Yeah but we could only book GKN and Wanyama. Can I come to your wedding?
I remember Martin Jol coming into the club and he commented on how he noticed that not winning anything was accepted. He couldnt believe it.
Ledley as much as I love him, is part of that era. Weve changed as a club, weve grown and we have good standing around the world.
while not winning anything may actually be ok, putting that into the players minds is the difference imho in mentality of winning something or literally not giving a fuck in a 2-0 defeat in the CL final because you've been told you dont have to win anything this season........ again.
Ledley, I love you but stfu.

Just can' have this at all - are you actually suggesting the players lost the CL final 'cos they didn't care enough ? That's just silly.

No you're right, that is silly. They played their hearts out, gave 100%, and I mean everyone did that. Not just that, Liverpool were that bloody good we just couldn't compete with them.
Can't deny we lost on the day, history books will forever tell us as much.
However, I don't think Liverpool were all that on the day.
Gifted a penalty, our main striker not fully fit.
I thought we were the better team on the day, and certainly didn't see Liverpool as "that bloody good we couldn't compete with them."
i think there was more than a touch of sarcasm in the post you replied to.

There is a world of difference between not giving 100% and not being physically able to give 100%.
There was more fight, determination and will to win from the poisoned players after eating their lasagne against the scummy spammers than there was in the CL final. It didnt even come close and that was a team that was literally unwell.
