We’ve got Colchester 3 weeks today. You’d think that would be an ideal game for him to start. Hopefully he starts forcing his way into the team after that. He must be fit enough by now, just needs more bedding in time with the squad.

He should be starting against palace....no need for Poch to drag this out.

Was it Xhaka that chopped him down?

Then Gio gave him the Argentinian death stare. Didn't take long for Lamela to teach him that.

Pretty sure I saw him mouth the words "suck my tame you swiss asshole" but my spanish isn't up to stratch these days.

He can do both. He can break the press, dribble with the ball at his feet and find killer passes. He'll be real quality. He's also got a very decent shot on him.

It's very difficult to define Lo Celso, he brings so much to the table. I would say he is pretty close to being the complete midfielder as is Ndombele. Give them 2 years and every club on earth will wish they had these two in their ranks.

They are going to be world class players and I am so glad we managed to sign both during the window.

The only downside is that I can see Winks and Sissoko being dropped for these two especially when we plan to play Eriksen, Son, Kane and Dele in front of the midfield. But hey competition was never a bad thing and we desperately needed squad depth.

It seemed to me that bringing the pair of them in was in direct response to the likelihood of losing Eriksen at some point and consequently switching to a different system. Having said that, I'm pretty confident GLC can play at 10 also. We now have some real depth and quality in CM whereas last season we had none.

He can definitely play the no 10 role, however if you're asking me I'd prefer to have Dele up top close to Kane with Moura/Son on the wings, and Lo Celso and Ndombele dictating the game from the middle of the park. Dele plays his best game when he's close to Kane, and we can definitely create enough with those two at CM we won't really need a playmaker per say.

Against tougher opposition we might have to drop Moura or Dele to accomodate Dier in DM but that's a bridge we can cross when we get there.

Nice problems to have.

As long as he doesn't also teach him how to do the "I didn't do anything" arm wave before he's even made a tackle. It makes him look guilty as fuck every time.

His cameo on Sunday was very promising. He looks such a talent, you can see he has that X factor that NDombele has also. Just now need to see his end product really.

They are the type of players you see Man City sign and see them play and say, Yeah they look class. But for once we have actually signed these types of players.

Heads not in it and it’s unsettling the squad so better out the door. Fergie would’ve done the same.

I can remember Wayne Rooney agitating for a move and saying that his relationship with Fergie had reached an "irretrievable breakdown". Ferguson convinced him to stay and got him to sign a new contract.

Who is going to tackle in midfield? NDombele doesn't seem to have the engine or inclination to press and harry whereas GLC by all accounts has only began to fulfil his potential while play in more attacking positions.

In an ideal world we would keep the ball so much that a deeper more disciplined player isn't needed but realistically even Man City, Barcelona, Liverpool etc.. set up with a disciplined DM or deep lying player.

City have Fernandinho who is a dm though. allows them to play 4-1-4-1

I'm on the move so typos....my point was I feel we need a Winks or Dier in midfield to compliment GLC/Ndombele. Those two alone are not disciplined enough.

I agree with this, don't know if you saw my reply to Japhet regarding dropping one of Son/Moura/Dele to accomodate a DM where needed.

I want to see him soon in the starting XI on a regular basis.

The guy should get the feeling that it is expected that he takes the things in his hands/feet.
We need to build around Tanguy / Gio / Kane and maybe Winksy. This is our future.

Seen the vid though maybe not on here. One of the reasons I've always liked argentinian footballers. Lots of balls on the deck, and into space, and between lines. I know it's you tube but those things are in the highest echelons of skill sets.

Won't be long before some one says wish he had a right foot though ?

How do you know when they've never played together? I think they would be fine as a pair tbh

Have to confess to not knowing much about him but the video shows he can spot the runs of others but also he can make the pass as well.
