What's new

The fans should force Enic to sack levy.

In my eyes Levy has f~#'£d up by stabbing Jol in the back but he has made it up to us by getting someone in who should do better. It's putting out a good image too that the board will not accept shit results. Now with the right manager at the helm of a very rich and talented club, and results going our way, maybe in a few years, the board will feel they can trust someone enough to hand over a bit more power, but until then, the only people worthy of having the power at Tottenham are DL, DC etc.

just wanna say, last year, we were the better team over the two games against sevilla.
only let down by a dodgy penalty, and a great ex spurs player who levy n jol conspired to dispose of.. (probably the only time they conspired to do anything)

so we are progressing?

we are not progressing.

it's levy that put us into the bottom 3, not jol.

You're an idiot.
A total fucking spanner.
Confusing issues, matters, emotions with FACTS.

And HERE'S a rather large Bertie Big Bolllocks fact for you...Daniel Levy's biggest mistake was in not sacking hoim in the summer when everyone else on the board had lost faith due to the amount of times Jol did not learn from his mistakes.
It would've saved Martin his respect (tho he seemed less concerned with that than with sticking around for the money) and it was done because Levy actually really liked Jol...

I don't giver a toss what your opinion is, and if you want to think Levy is a wanker, have at it and enjoy yourself.
But geezer, do not start posting the sort of SHIT you did above and expect not to get torn apart by people who have more than one functioning braincell...

FFS!

Think about what you are saying. I mean really think.
I've been a Spurs fan for over 20 years and seen some good times and some bad times. Up until the last few seasons things have been pretty bleak, so in comparison I'd say that 2 5th place finishes is progress.
You are obviously still bitter about Kanoute leaving, but we made more progress after he had gone. I'm not saying Kanoute was holding us back, but if he is your measure of progress then try to look at the bigger picture.
How is getting knocked out of the UEFA cup in the QF by the champions worse than not qualifying? It isn't. Getting that far represents progress, even if we didn't win it.

Citron, as much a huge supporter of Jol that I am, I don't think that Levy acted in any underhanded way towards the end of the reign of Big Martin, I think that it was PK and his cohorts, if they had not been kicking up a stink then Ramos may never have been approached and the season not so undermined.

Unfortunately there are rules on this forum that prevent me from telling this poster exactly where he stands in the food chain.

You sir are a complete tool .

Take your head out of the Daily Star for a 'mo .

We are an unsuccessful club with a very small ground and a place among the relegation possibles .

Levy/Board have gone out and secured us one of the best qualified managers in the world ( fantastic achievement).

As someone once wrote ......... ' You're an idiot citron , Its a wonder that you still know how to breathe '

i don't know the facts, i have just been reading newspaper extracts on here and peoples opinions and have come to deeply believe what i am talking about. when jol replaced santini i think this suited levy. he was confident in jol because arnesen was confident, and any success jol could bring to the team levy could take credit for (because jol was relatively unknown to the fans). the more success that could be directly attributed to levy the better for him as he could pay himself more bonuses or whatever. jol did so well that he quickly became a cult hero, and as much as levy enjoyed the relative success and feel good factor around white hart lane, he wanted to be just as popular as the jol n arnesen combo, so he could justify his bonises to the shareholders or whatever.. so from my point of view, we have a winning combination, but then levy gets greedy, and exerts his control over the club. a shame arnesen pissed off really , because this allowed levy to come into his own. he could have given jol more power, or consulted him with a view to recruiting a dutch director of football, but no, he goes and recruits an ex-arsenal scout. oh dear. so this is where he began to undermine jol, he wedged comoli firmly between himself n jol and went about having lunches with england managers discussing recruitments. like he knew we lacked something. like mendes wasnt doing a good job at the time. like carrick wasnt worthy of a serious pay rise. like he knew ANYTHING about footy. i wanted to go on and on but im so tired now. then after jol is sacked he says its regrettable. that all he wanted was continuity. gahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

get rid

of.

Citron, you're perfectly entitled to your own view and to see the situation your own way, but what you have come up with is obtuse at best.

So where WAS Levy at yesterday's press conference? Isn't is usual for the chairman to present a new head coach? No doubt the spin is on its way.

I think that if Levy thought Jol should go he should have done it in the summer, not start two games into this season. There's no doubt in my mind that the events since August have had a negative effect on the team and its results. Jol had a difficult set of fixtures to deal with - we only got 8 points from the same 10 games last season - and this didn't help.

Ramos has been brought in to start with Blackpool at home. This is followed by 5 league games all of which we won under Jol last season. Let's see how Wendy does.

But if Levy had been the chairman of a plc in the City and carried on like this there's little doubt that the shareholders would have asked him to stand down. He's embarrassed the club and dragged its name through the mud. And as Martin Jol knows, it doesn't matter what you've achieved in the past, if you cock up now it's time to go.

Not trying to convince anyone else of this view - it's just my opinion .

I just feel that the thing the tabloids are interested in ie the sneaking around hotels and the process of the change....have been allowed to take over this story and in tabloid obsessed uk everyone has allowed this ( paper selling ) agenda to dominate .

Very few managers resign ,the sacking of a manager is the common way things end . Only trouble is ,the fake 'shock' that the tabloids are selling (to make profits) has taken over everything and influenced everyone .

There is little doubt that Ramos has the far better pedigree than Jol . The team was slipping away from Mart BEFORE Ramosgate , the chronic indiscipline was getting worse.

Levy has gone out and punched way above our weight (small ground ,no success, relegation position ) to pull off an amazing coup and bring in a truly world class manager .

His reward ? Continuing media abuse and now continuing abuse on here . Treatment I consider nothing short of disgusting .

I remember the media sneers over Arse waiting for Wenger to join them....pure chaff in the wind as is all this paper selling bullshit now at what maybe a similarly significant appointment.

My advice to fellow SCers is get your heads out of your tabloids and go down on your knees with me in gratitude to a chairman guilty only of doing the very best he can for his club .

LEVY I SALUTE YOU

No No No Gilzean King

You must believe all the fucking bollocks that you read in the press! There is no way that the press manipulate, bend and down right make shit up for a story.

Every little thing that they write against our board you must believe as gospel, only Levy is alowed to carry out witch hunts and there is no way that the press would do that against our club or its board members.

They want Jol (who they relentlessly pushed to be sacked) to be the messiah.

And they want Kemsley and Levy (who they relentlessly pursued to sack Jol) to be the anti christs.

If it wasn't all so fuckin ridiculous it would all be so laughable.

Yes Legend quite so .

I would just add that the bbc , who are running another poisonous and factually flawed attack on us today ARE included in the tabloidisation of uk media comment .

They printed as gospel the tabloid lie that Scholari had turned down the England job because of 'Death Threats' .

They printed (and continue to print )as fact the tabloid lie that Ramos said Spurs had made a 'dizzying offer' in August .

Just wish some people here could see the media agenda a bit clearer .

Citron might not be the most eloquent of writers and may not have specific facts and details to hand, but Levy has been a very incompetent chairman, two fifith places don't excuse his behaviour nor do improved financial results, most clubs turnover in the prem are on the up.

It's interesting that there was a vitriolic response to his thread from a number of usual suspects on here, so out of touch with supporters at the lane (this being park lane in my case), but then I've found sc to be totally out of touch with st holders and regulars on so many subjects.

Levy sacked Graham before a semi final?
Levy sacked Hoddle six games into a season and left Pleat as caretaker for a whole season and if you put your memory caps on it was dreadful.
Santini walked out after a few games.
Got lucky with Jol. Who Arnesen brought in supposedly.
Lost Arnesen.
Then the current fiasco?

Good track record on the footballing side? the side that actually drives everything else?

I think not.

he did so well in the short time he was here but then he started wrongly believing being a chairman was a doddle, started signing players off his own back and has basically destroyed alll the good foundations he laid.

Enic gave him this post to raise the profile of the club and make them money but he went too far and now they should appoint a new chairman, someone better who won't make us look stupid anymore. Clear out the board. We, the fans, have the power to do this.

Rubbish. He has done a very good job for us, unless you want to go back to the Alan Sugar days........?

Levy only has the best interests of the club at heart. It may mean he sells when we become successful but then at least he is trying to lead us to success.

Levy is the best chairman we have had - end of the story.

Just delete this post.

We have got the progress, the record profit, we have got the money to buy players, he has hired Comolli, he has changed a bad run by appointing one of the most respected managers.

Overall - He has done a great job with Spurs, and we have a great future.
