What will be interesting is to see who we try and offload. It'll be like a pre-summer sale as Wendy will have worked out who will cut it in his team and who won't by then.

Can't see us enticing any quality players to join us in January when at best we'll be a mid-table team with a (very) slim chance of UEFA Cup football.

Excellent news about Ledley, not so good about Bale, he just adds that little bit extra. Fingers crossed it won't be any longer than that.

But… But… We had a squad ready to break into the Big Four in August!

I think we could have figured out the spec on Ledders for ourselves, but the news on Bale isn't too encouraging.

I think there will be plenty of good players lining up to join us,regardless of our league position.Ramos has a very good reputation after his success at Seville and players will come here believing that they will win trophies in the not too distant future.
Of course it is difficult to sign players half way through a season!

Does Dragon have a good track record with these kind of things? The Bale news worries me!

Do you think 7th place is out of our reach? That position has granted a wafer cup place on many occasions in the past, and surely we can aim for that?

OH BOF so negative . I think ( for emotional reasons ) you are unable to percieve that we now have a man generally accepted to be one of the very best coaches in the world .

We've never had a manager with these sort of qualifications . You may not be able to see it but , the players will . I would expect him to be an attraction to top players .

Also , he may be of high enough quality for even Berby to want to hang around a bit longer .

Yes , we ALL LOVED Martin...and Chris , but I reckon you're allowing your personal connection with them to colour your judgement at the mo ' .

Dragon1 does have a good rep on this stuff.

I cant see the Bale stuff being true tho - he was back in full training sure?

Many see him as one of the more credible info-peddlers. While not being as much in thrall as some, I wouldn't dismiss anything he says out of hand.

King always seems to be a couple of weeks away. Him playing can only ever be seen as an occasional bonus from now on. Bale being a slow healer is worrying, though, as he seems to take a fair few knocks.

Was the most reliable of the ITKs over the summer (with the exception of Hoofhearted, who had the unfair advantage of actually knowing Bent and his family). That isn't necessarily saying a great deal, but does appear to have genuine contacts at the club. He (she?) was, along with BEN, entrusted with relaying anti-Jol stories to message boards after Ramosgate.

I think Dragon is one of the best ITKs - be interested to see if Bale does feature for Wales

just checked BBC -

'Gareth Bale (foot) almost certain to be on the sidelines. '

Looks like Dragon may have it 100% corrrect, which is bad news for us and Bale.

How much dosh will be spent though? How much is DL willing to stump up?

I would imagine he's feeling pretty shortchanged out of last summer, and what with the BMJ/JR incident he's had to fork out even more.

Here's hoping a CB and CM and a winger (either side) are on the cards. I can see possibly a GK too.

Eek

what is this?

It seems a few ITKs were spreading anti Jol propaganda once they heard that the board wanted to replace him. We had stories that Jol wanted to sell the best players, and that Jol was being a "backstabber" by talking to Newcastle.

Seems this propaganda was put in place to soften the blow when Jol was sacked. And, it worked. Many fans were saying it's time for Jol to go, and they thought it was his fault, rather than the fault of the board who systematically undermined him and gave him players he didn't require.
