On a general note the best player I have seen in all this years champions league games was the Leipzig centre half Upamecano I dont think he misplaced any passes and he won every header he contested also attempted to intercept passes and was successful every time he was a giant and would not be surprised to see him at one of the uber rich clubs and by the way I dont think he conceded one foul it was reminiscent of Ledley in his pomp .

On the subject of Lyon they gave me one of my worst football memories in 1967 we played them in the cup winners cup and losing one nil away but winning 4.3 at home I believe we were the first victims of the new rule on away goals . double gutted

Totally Football Show had an interesting stat about Man City losing at half time in PL
Basically, and I may be mangling the exact numbers, Man City never win if losing at half time. It's a stat that extends back about 20 years...all through Pep's time and beyond.
The suggestion around Pep's team was that they have a lot of players who follow Pep's instructions exactly, to the letter, and for the most part it works. However, if it comes a little unstuck there is nobody, and no scope, for anybody on the pitch to take the initiative and attempt to fix it. It all comes from the bench.
In all such discussions I always think "what would Roy Keane do?" and trading water while waiting for pitchside instructions seems unlikely.
