I don't expect them to look well oiled, but given the fact that we are working towards making a system work I'd like to see some understanding and link up between players.

Last half was shit. This half we've seen Clarke dragging his fullback in time and again for Aurier to run into space, Dele and Bergwijn rotating to make options through the centre and on the left and the midfield two rotating with the back three to create passing options and make space through the middle.

It's been a much better half for us.

I love the way Clarke really attacks the defenders when he has the ball, there's definitely something about him. Easy to forget he's only 19.
and probably lacking confidence after a tumultuous year.

We need to buy a creative midfielder, we have none real creative midfielder in the team. Lo Celso isn’t creating enough (he plays deeper tbf) and Ndombele can create but not big numbers

We haven’t replaced Eriksen and it will cost us in the season

I know it shouldn't matter cause its pre season but the ref has given them loads of shitty decisions.

People really need to get off sess and Clarke’s back it’s mad how much people are criticising them ! If they were from our own academy they wouldnt be getting this much hate! They clearly both need some confidence calm down

is it not understandable that they're held to higher expectations given they cost 40m between them?

From what you've said, I think Clarke could work really well with Doherty.

If they were from our academy it would be the opposite and every touch they made would be the most beautiful thing that has ever happened on a pitch.

For the most part I'd agree but none of the players in our academy cost 30m+. If the club have committed that much money into a player then it's surely fair that the expectations are higher than for an average youth player.

Price tag isn't his fault but it's understandable why people are frustrated at these anonymous performances.
