There's a rot there behind the scenes which is playing out on the pitch. There is not one single senior player any youngster at the club could look up to on or off the pitch. The likes of Willian coming in as a Chelsea has-been, Luiz the same, earning mega money and not performing. The dross of the last Wenger years and Emery's spell hanging around running down contracts because they know they won't earn half what Arsenal pay them anywhere else. Players who did perform for Wenger and Emery, like Aubameyang and Lacazette, looking like they've given up.

If you're one of their home grown players; a Saka, Nketiah, Maitland-Niles or Nelson etc who are you looking up to and trying to emulate? There's no one. You've got probably the worst set of senior pros you could want to be training and playing with. All earning well above what you're getting and not earning it.

I reckon Burnley is the crucial game now.

Lose that (or draw with no goals) and Arteta will be sacked before the end of the year.

A win against Burnley doesn't even get them out of the bottom half.

A defeat to Burnley puts them 4 off the relegation places.

Like I said, I hope nothing but 20 years of mid table to almost relegation for them like we had in the 90s.

As funny as relegation would be I don't think its realistic so hovering is next best thing and is possible if they find themselves in a rut they can't get out of.

They've already lost 6 games ???
As much as I would love to see them get relegated in the short term. I will certainly miss the NLD as it’s one of the matches I look forward to most every season. However if Chelsea were ever to go through something like this I would love to see them go down and never return. Only one can dream though.

Gabriel and Partey were great signings, Saka is very good but overall they are missing something, goals don't come easy for them anymore. They haven't really replaced Ozil and Pepe is awful. Willian is still a set piece threat and we will need to be careful but they feel more like West Ham now.
Not sure about Partey as I haven’t really seen much of him. Saka is a great talent on the ball but so far he doesn’t seem to have too much end product but very early days.

By the way, Ozil would literally walk directly into that XI. He’d make them much better and they’d likely actually be able to score. Too bad for them he saw right through the boards bullshit and called them on it so now hes not going to get anywhere close to the squad list. While he looked like scum for months, it only took until about August for everyone to realize he was actually right.

I do agree, but it also has to be remembered how pathetic some of Ozil's performances were as well and even though he'd probably start well if brought back, it wouldn't take long for people to be reminded why he was frozen out in the first place IMO.

Spoken out publicly now about Guendozi, Ozil and now Partey and not in a good way either, if that was a certain other manager people would be so quick to bring out that forced narrative again...

See, the thing about Arsenal is they always try to walk it in.

I honestly thought that's what they'd do, especially when I saw the line up.

I can't believe he didn't do that.

He wouldn’t do that because tactically he isn’t a good coach. He’s terrible, said it since the first few weeks of seeing his teams play. No idea how anyone can think otherwise unless they’ve been brainwashed by Gary Neville and the rest of arteta‘s fan club.

Take heart in the fact that prior to the game he stated Tottenham as "irrelevant".

Tottenham are top of the league
Arsenal languishing in 15th

Who's irrelevant?

Did DT mean we were irrelevant to football in general, or irrelevant to Arsenal?

The former sees us as one of the richest clubs in the world, with regular European football, national captains playing for us and challenging at the top of the PL.

The latter sees us as Arsenal's arch-rivals.

It's a nonsensical statement.

So Arteta brings Partey back before he's fit, leading to his injury. And then slaggs him off in the national press for being in pain and hobbling off the pitch for treatment.

Not exactly a man-management master class, is it?

He didn’t want him in the first place. I wouldn’t be surprised if subconsciously there’s an element of I’ll show you in his treatment of him.
