According to reports, he has rejected Manure's final salary offer.

Wes Brown could be on his way out of Manchester United after rejecting the club's latest contract offer.

The England international was expected to sign a new and improved four-year deal at Old Trafford, but his advisors have now informed the club that they are not happy with the offer.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson insists that The Red Devils will not be improving their existing offer, meaning Brown could be on his way when his present deal expires in the summer.

Rejected

"We have had several meetings with Wes' agent but they have rejected our last offer," said Ferguson.

"It is a good offer but it is our final one. That is the end of it now and we won't be going back."

Brown would be free to talk to other interested clubs in January and even sign pre-contract terms with teams outside the Premier League.

It is rare for United to find themselves in this position, especially with one of their home-grown players.

And with Gary Neville suffering yet another setback on his long-awaited return from injury, he seems destined to spend much of the campaign at right-back.

Ferguson added: "There is a possibility Wes could leave, which would be very disappointing."

i dont know what to think of this...he is good player...well sorta...but if he comes to us there is not the same pressure as playing at manure so he might be better.

A couple of questions occur:

1) How much did Man U offer him, that he felt he had to turn down the offer. Bascially, could we afford his wages?

2) Would he want to come to Spurs?

He could be a superb acquisition for us. I'm surprised this has come out though... he's playing regularly at the moment.

I would say it is a case of other players such as Evra recently signing new contracts that may have been worth more than what he was offered. Happens sometimes that players that come up through the club get under appreciated when renewing their contracts. I feel he would be a great signing, experience at all levels and can play RB as well.

Get him in. Doesn't pull up trees but has been drilled to be efficient in his capabilities and will improve our squad.

This guy has a horendous track record with injuries. Do we really want another ledley in the squad?

I guess the two could give each other company in the treatment room.

he might not have rejected the contract because he isnt going to be paid enough, but maybe for not being played enough

Probably worth investment - wouldn't be expensive as contract runs out in summer. An experienced head in the centre of defense that in a pinch could shift to RB if Chimbonda continues becoming a liability. Would give Dawson/kaboul some confidence when King's out and would provide another solid option alongside our captain when he returns.

There's not a huge number of central defenders that meet our criteria so he's one of the better options.

I think he is shit. Adds nothing to our squad other than another wage to pay. We should go for someone far better.

I don't think we can offer him more than what Manure can offer; so don't think he'll come.

He's England B so would slide in nicely between the other nearly men .

Don't think he has the leadership skills we need which Naybet had .

Gilberto Silver a far better bet .

If they aren't offering him what he wants then it is either because they want to upgrade or he's not that good .

I'd be surprised if he was on as much as Keano .

Apparently he was 55k a week which theres no way we would pay him.

On reasonable money I dont see why not however Ive never really rated him that highly. At the moment our defence is just so crap that we may as well give him a try, hes always had some potential and there must be some reason that hes always in England squads
