The six Premier League clubs that signed up for the doomed European Super League have all been hit with fines. Manchester United,Chelsea,Liverpool,Arsenal,Manchester City and Tottenham must all pay a combined sum of just over £20million for their part in the doomed venture.
This equates to around £3.5million per club, and the money is expected to go back into grassroots football and the wider community, rather than to the 14 other teams in the top-flight.

Not much more than a slap on the wrist financially. A points deduction would hurt more, but then its the fans who are being punished , who are of course totally innocent in all of this.

The season / summer just gets even better. £20m is a lot for Levy/Enic.

edit: I need to open my eyes and read the words properly before making myself look like a fool

Why can't they fine the racist clubs more then?
How come clubs whose fans regularly racially abuse players get given a measly 20k fine? Is that because it doesn't threaten the financial stability of the powers that be?!

The other 14 Premier League clubs have used this as an easy opportunity to have a go at the big 6 clubs. They are more interested in doing this than in finding a constructive solution to football’s problems. They set themselves up as paragons of virtue yet the likes of Everton and Villa are attempting to follow the same path as the big 6 by spending obscene amounts of money. I hope Spurs remember their attitude when one of them steps out of line in future or needs a favour.

This is why the FA (and UEFA) aren't the heroes here. They are grubby little salesmen only interested in enriching their own houses.

I don't see how the FA can prevent clubs from essentially creating a set of glamour friendlies?

Maybe because:

1. That's not the club being racist, just some of its fans.

2. The FA probably doesn't think that racism is such a big problem in the PL, even if they may act like it is to keep the woke mob at bay.

Agree with your post, I think people need to stop focusing solely on racism and more about hatred, the abuse Beckham and lampard got was horrific, I think there needs to be focus on on not being a @@@@! There shouldn’t be any abuse fullstop!

1) Because the clubs need to be made responsible for the behaviour of their fans. Weren't English clubs banned from Europe because of fan behaviour?

2) Racism is still a massive problem, more so in Europe but also in the Prem. Recent events have shown as much.

Quite right.
Also Arsenal are a lovely club with decent players with wonderfully red shirts. Their fans are down to earth and not arrogant and entitled at all. We should cheer them all loudly when they next visit.
We are lucky to have them as neighbours.
