I'm seeing that Sevilla are in talks to to sign Jerome Boateng, Christan Falk from Bild mentions.

Would certainly impact their centre back situation. On one hand, this means Kounde may leave. On the other, would they really want Sanchez now?

Think Sevilla have moved on/in the process of moving on Sergi Gomez (a CB)to Espanyol so Boateng maybe a replacement for him and if Kounde goes, Sanchez comes in for him.

Apparently Romagnoli from AC Milan is one of the back-ups, all the other names have been discussed on here. This is from someone connected to Spurs, who informed me (well, my friend) about the Poch conversations before they broke.
Would make alot of sense as I think he's only got a year or so left on contract.

Left footed too...

I’d prefer a player who actively wants to join rather than someone who is holding out for a better offer. That’s the sort of target we would have chased in previous seasons and end up missing out on them and other alternatives because we left it too long. Hopefully Paratici’s strict deadline approach resolves this. I’d actually prefer we went for someone else. I do worry about his height at CB also. Could be he has an amazing leap, but I’d be concerned he’d get targeted.

I get the idea, but if we want quality players the likes of Kounde, not all of them are gonna see us as their preferred destination and thus we've gotta convince them.
As for the other point about missing targets, all reports and rumours and noise suggests that Paratici doesn't just focus on one player so seems like we're not going to, in theory, miss out on anyone as we're focused on another.

Interesting. He had a sub-par season and he was no longer first choice, but there's a good player in there. He's not super quick though (which is why Tomori is now a fan favourite there).

He's a Raiola client so my hunch is that he'll wind down his contract and leave on a free next summer (like Donarumma just did, also a Raiola client).

I keep getting excited and thinking this but then going through the other challengers and suddenly feeling much less confident.

Chelsea just won the CL, City are City and might have Grealish/Kane, Liverpool have Van Dijk back with Konate next to him, whilst United have made two unbelievable signings in Varane and Sancho.

English clubs seem to have suffered the least from the pandemic financially so the competition next year is just ridiculously strong. Crazy that we could have a squad full of £40/50m players plus Son and Kane, yet still probably just be favourites for 5th.

You're dead right (and have just brought me crashing back down to earth).

May U have bought incredibly well - echoes of when Liverpool went out and bought VVD and Alisson. Getting Cavani for another year gave them a world class focal point to their attack and in Varane and Sancho they have bought two world class players in positions they needed to strengthen. If they buy a top notch DCM we're screwed.

Let's hope Liverpool have another patchy season and Chelsea do not sign a world class CF!

Oh well - it was always on the cards. At least it's happening now and not later on in the window. Plenty of time to move onto other targets.

Is what it is, Sevilla sign sanchez with Kounde money, we go and get someone else. Can’t blame him for wanting CL football can you
