It's pretty crazy that he's potentially walking away from being potentially the club's most treasured ever player (statues and stand naming levels) to go and win a PL with Man City that they'd have probably won without him.

I get that all of those near misses will really be eating away at him but signing for City is just a cheat code to easy trophies. Sounds a bit of a hollow victory to me.

Ultimately I blame ENIC for letting us fall so badly that he feels the need to leave but I do wonder if it'd really be worth it in the long run.
ENIC have a lot to be blamed for but in their defence, they did break the wage structure for him and give a very very lucrative package for him. Not only that but the club have done nothing but support him.

I think they deserve a bit more respect in this case.

Maybe Kane has told the club he wants to leave and they refused but he should also remember that they gave him 6 years worth of privileges. They wouldn't have done that for Modric, Bale or Berbatov. They did that because they thought Kane was a symbol of the team/club.

The article isn’t actually telling us any different from what we already know. But he wants to leave. That’s obvious. And the last paragraph is erroneous in its inaccuracy.

Levy wants to keep Kane at the club and does not want to sell a player with three seasons left on his contract, although City remain interested in him succeeding Sergio Aguero as Pep Guardiola’s main striker.
He will be Villa’s second-biggest signing behind Emi Buendia, who arrived from Norwich City earlier in the summer to add to Smith’s attacking options.

Bailey has been a Bundesliga regular for four seasons after starting his career in Belgium with Genk. Last season his 15 goals was his best return at Leverkusen and sparked interest from Premier League clubs.

Villa have interest in other players this summer and made bids for Emile Smith Rowe before he signed a new contract at Arsenal. Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, who was on loan at Villa Park three seasons ago, has been on their radar along with Burnley winger Dwight McNeil.

Kane was not involved in an open training at Spurs’ stadium on Saturday as Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad practised in front of fans. He has been granted extra holiday to recover from reaching the latter stages of the Euros, along with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg who he faced in the semi-finals when England beat Denmark.

His interview with Neville put pressure on Levy when he suggested his value would decrease in coming transfer windows if an offer was not accepted for him to join City this summer.

Kane also used the figure of £100m as a fee that Levy could listen to. City, however, would have to break the British transfer record again for Kane after bidding that amount for Grealish.

Levy took out a £175m Government loan from the Covid Corporate Financing Facility to cover the impact of the coronavirus pandemic closing sport’s door to fans, which saw the club’s new stadium with empty seats and a huge reduction in income. Levy feared losing £200m as a result of the Covid-19 impacting sport, but is still determined to keep Kane despite the fee he would raise.

I don’t know how to break this to you. Harry doesn’t care. About you, me, his spurs legacy etc. he cares about him, his family and money, in no order.

City will be like UTD when they signed Keane. Already dominating domestically, Keane pushed them on in Europe, that’s what Kane will do.

it sucks, I agree, but when people talk about us being bullied, realize that we do exactly the same in the scheme of things.

if you / we were Kane would you want to have KDB supplying you constantly, or look around and see Winks doing his ring road special. I know which one I’d choose.

Grealish and Kane are two players I honestly thought would have found City and their fake Arab backed success annoying

Not desperately buy into it

If I were either of them I would rather go United on less money 10 times over.

City are meaningless as far as actual football fans are concerned.

I think that’s why there is a bit of “meh” about losing Kane to them, scum beyond scum

It purely comes down to fulfilling childhood ambitions.
(which is of course very different to being ambitious.)
Growing up through the junior sides Harry and Jack will have 'dreamed' of winning the PL/FAcup/CL.
And then sitting back in their rocking chairs, 40 years, from now, there will be no caveat on their medals saying they were won in a one horse race.
Both players are good enough to start in City's first XI so I doubt club loyalty will balance the scales.

He'll have to down tools completely and hand in a transfer request, aka Berbatov style to force through a move this summer.

City will also have to cough up £150m+ after spending £100m on Grealish

It ain't happening.

Nah, they aren't spending 170 - 200 million on Kane this summer. It was obvious when they made their 100 million bid. That was their opening gambit, thinking we would come to the table and maybe agree for around 120.

For some reason I think City think Spurs are skint and desperate for the money.

Still see it happening. Kane will hand in transfer request next week. City aren’t worried about spending that sort of money.

I agree it shouldn't reduce what we want

However, it's very hard for a club to keep a player who really doesn't want to be there. Especially when there are 100's of millions of pounds at stake.

I’ll never blame Harry for wanting to leave, that blame lays square a levy’s door. And the biggest indictment on levy’s tenure won’t be Stratford or the Super League, it’ll be that he had one of the best players into the world fall into his lap, for free, and then failed to show enough ambition to keep him.

But, I do agree with what others have said that if he wants to go he needs to hand in a transfer request and make sure his prat of a brother gets city to cough up £160m.

He's supposed to be a Spurs fan He's supposed to love this club get Vlahovic in and keep Kane on bench at start of season.

It’s sad how quickly some fans have turned on Harry.

Does anybody else wonder how he would want to leave without saying his goodbyes to the Spurs crowd.

Slinking off after a season of empty stadia.

He certainly isn't the man projected in the media.

Come 1st September Kane will want to play and score as many goals as possible. He won’t be ready for the first game now anyway. Let him suck it up.

That said, £100m and Laporte (to partner Romero) and Cancelo (to replace Aurier), and we could also buy Vlahovic and/or Ings and still have change for another upgrade.

Mate we had 2 league title challenges, CL final, Numerous League cup finals aswell we showed plenty of ambition 18 rough months and he's trying to ditch us. Yes Levy has done alot wrong especially during those 18 months but when shit got hard he wants to fuck off
