Because he's burnt too many bridges here and they are his only option if he wants to stay in the PL?
Yeah - I can definitely see him ending up at United.

They'll very likely be able to offer him CL football which we might not be able to, and will also love the marketing angle of bringing in the England captain, etc. Kane might not win anything there, but he'll feel he has a better chance than he does here, no doubt (unless we have an incredible season).

Good thing about United is they're much more willing to pay silly money than City and I can still see us getting around 120 million from them for Kane in a years time, especially if City also bid to drive the price up.

I think there's also an outside chance that Kane ends up staying, but that would be massively dependent on the success of Nuno and our new signings.

Let’s not all start sucking each other off just yet. Window doesn’t shut until the end of the month and we have had conflicting reports about whether or not City will try and sign both players.

Tbh I want him gone now. He made very clear by his actions he thinks he's better/bigger than us. I don't care how many goals he might score for us this season, he's crossed the line for me and there's no going back.

I hope we sign a striker and make Kane fight for his place like anyone else. I hope we stop pandering to his every whim.

If he needs to draw up a statement I’d suggest not turning to his brother to write it. Sacking his agent would be a good first step though.

Kane appointed him and must have known what he was like but he thought himself untouchable and he would get anything he wanted

If City don’t cough up the cash maybe eating some well deserved humble pie might make him a better person because he’s coming across as an arrogant spoilt brat atm
Trying to mug off the Club that made him

Imagine waking up after deadline day to find Harry has gone to City for 120m and they've given us Liam Smith in return. Absolute scenes!

Charlie or Harry via the 'gentleman's agreement' they thought they had.

Clowns
But Charlie gave the exclusive to the Sun that £160m was the price.
Man City know the price wasn't £100m, anyone with a brain can see that.
The Kane's have been played by City big time. "Mugs"

Oh FFS, I’ve just realised that if Kane does end up at City, all the papers will go with the headline ‘Citizen Kane’ that’s reason enough not to sell him!
And we all remember how that story ended for Mr. Kane, don´t we? Huge mansion, all the money and status in the world - but alone, disillusioned, left by all that loved him, and desperately longing for the childhood values he sacrificed to reach the top. At the end realising that ending up in Xanadu was truly just an empty, glorified myth with no true human value.

I get where you’re coming from, but if he knuckles down and apologises to his teammates etc I don’t think this is irredeemable. Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s a twat that needs knocking down a peg or two, but he’s still probably the best striker in the world. I’d rather not cut off our nose to spite our face. If we get a ridiculous offer for him, fine, but I’d rather have the pretty much guaranteed goals and assists.

It's a bit like leaving your wife of 30 years, with whom you were perfectly happy, just because Gillian Anderson glanced in your direction when she attended the premier of the X-Files movie in Leicester Square!

And then Gillian then doesn’t flash her knickers as you thought and you have to go back on your knees to your wife!

I know exactly what would happen to me if I tried that one!!

I actually think this could work out for us. By the sounds of things he's been given a huge say in everything at the club over the past couple of years, he'll have lost that now and him being knocked down a peg or two could ultimately be good for the team.

I think this is the unfortunate result of us indulging him and giving him undue influence for too long.

I can see City coming in with a final offer of £120m/£130m + a player of some sort (Bernardo/Jesus/Laporte/Ake).

Hopefully, we flat-out reject it and that will be that.
The issue with that is the exchange player would know they're a makeweight (which would destroy their ego)......and, more importantly, want to come to a club that doesn't pay as much and won't guarantee you trophies.

It's funny that football is a team sport, and yet played by some of the most selfish people that are interested in little but personal glory, records, and medals with their name on it.

Hmmmmmm. The first two sentences and the last sentence are delicious when paired - because obviously his recent behaviour is anything but “decent bloke” behaviour.
It's amazing that grownups on here can't understand that football is a lucrative occupation for players, and not necessarily a love in with any particular club. It's understandable for younger fans.

He is a decent bloke, using a well-worn path to departing Spurs, as Bale, Modric and several others did before him. They are also decent blokes and it worked out pretty well for them.

Do people feel better about him wanting to leave if they claim he's not a decent bloke, despite recently celebrating him?

.....your wife would tell everyone how lucky she is to have such a desirable husband, and that he so horny even Gillian Anderson glanced at him once? :cautious: :shifty:

I think for most of us we foolishly thought that he was different having come up through the ranks, and claiming to love the club.

Unfortunately he’s proved he’s no better than any other mercenary footballer.

He does have a wife that has been with him since childhood and a young family. So in terms of being alone, he certainly won't be. Professionally he might be, but his family won't have left him.
