I think for most of us we foolishly thought that he was different having come up through the ranks, and claiming to love the club.

Unfortunately he’s proved he’s no better than any other mercenary footballer.
It's a mercenary sport in that case. Clubs horse trade players around as they like too.

He probably does love the club even as he wants to leave now. Those two things can be true.

And most of us have jobs. Despite the rare/unique job they have, you surely can't doubt the merits of him pushing to leave for a better chance of success and even more money from a career perspective?

I bet the marketing team are already hard at work making new material with Kane more in the background (if he stays) or removed completely (if he goes).

I still think he'll be gone by Sept 1st. Far too much risk of him stinking the place out and bringing the dressing room down, which massively decreases his potential fee in a years time.

We can assume that Kane said he wanted to leave last summer and was given some kind assurance. So he already wasn't that happy to be at Spurs last season. He still bagged the golden boot and top assists though.

If he stays another year, of course there will be a period in which he sulks and is below par, but he is always crap in August anyway and takes for ever to get going. I don't see it being a big issue, and am certain he will buckle down and deliver once the season is really up and running. The World Cup and personal accolades are too important for him to piss away a season.

He will also be all the more determined to leave next summer and isn't going to want to make that harder because his level drops.

It might hurt to accept but we are a selling club under Levy. And all about money! Kane cost us nothing Barr wages so... Levy will sell, he has history for selling and Kane sell is all profit.

If levy wanted to sell he would have got shot before now.

Atlanta Yid with some holiday ITK on COYS.

Harry has a 'time share' in Joe Lewis resort in the Bahamas. I don't think he is their at the moment.

As for Harry going to Florida he must be out of his mind with the Delta variant

This whole Kane situation has thrown a complete spanner in the works of our transfer strategy. If we sell Kane we might be able to go for some higher profile targets. I'm sure its a contingency that Paratici hopefully has in hand and might be the cause of why we are not so far down the line as we should be.

we've seen this movie before, with Bale and Berbatov. they both refused to train and are now both Spurs legends.
Neither of them are real Spurs legends. They are more Spurs heroes. Bill Nick is a legend, Blanchflower is a legend, Ardiles is a legend, even Villa due to his goal against MC. Hoddle is a Spurs Legend, so are Pat Jennings, Martin Chivers, Jimmy Greaves, Cliff Jones, etc. Legends are those players who live on in the legend of a club. It's often a fine line. Is Klinsmann a legend, is Modric a legend, is Garth Crooks a legend, or are they our former heroes?

What reason does he have to go to Florida other than Tom Brady (birthday yesterday)?

Florida is the current COVID hotspot in the states. I believe 20% of the cases in the US are all in Florida right now.

I don't think so.

"Walker-Peters joined fellow Premier League side Southampton on loan until the end of the season. On 11 August 2020, he signed a permanent, five-year deal with the club for a reported fee of £12 million"
You seem to be confused. Absolutely nobody is suggesting that we would swap Kane exclusively for players, without any cash involved. This isn’t American sports. Part exchange deals (emphasis on part) do happen and have become much more common since Covid hit. If you think that KWP wasn’t sent in part exchange for Hojbjerg, you simply weren’t paying attention last summer.

Yeah I hope you're right.

I have a feeling there will end up being some sort of loan to City for £50m fee this season with obligation to buy at £100m. No matter how much city plead poverty there is no way Kane pushes the nuclear button without being certain a massive bid will come in. If so then City have mugged Kane off, in which case will he want to go there at all?

So many variables now that could have been so much simpler if he just sat tight, worked hard and let the clubs deal with it.

I disagree - I think Paratici will have already known what we need and who to target and this wont impact much

Why am I not surprised Kane has a timeshare? Next we'll be hearing he's very excited about an investment opportunity with Bernie Madoff

And we all remember how that story ended for Mr. Kane, don´t we? Huge mansion, all the money and status in the world - but alone, disillusioned, left by all that loved him, and desperately longing for the childhood values he sacrificed to reach the top. At the end realising that ending up in Xanadu was truly just an empty, glorified myth with no true human value.
This many times over.
