If he’s pally with aurier and sissoko and they are leaving why does that mean he wants to leave? He’s not going to be going to the same team as either of them so it doesn’t matter they leave. He’s so talented and one of my favourite players but he’s so frustrating. He could be bossing midfields but doesn’t seem to have the attitude to want to.

@DavidSpurs13 would you care to elaborate as to why you dislike this? Do you think his situation is acceptable?

@DavidSpurs13

The guy has disliked every post that says anything negative around Ndombele. As some others on this forum that cares more about watching ndombele doing flicks, tricks and losing the ball in the middle than us winning. The Ndombele cult here is real and delusional, they will keep defending him even after next summer break where he turns up with the pregnant belly as usual

Which clubs that could afford him can also afford his wages? Either we are forking out a % or he is taking a drop whether he goes

He has the talent and occasional sensational skills in him no doubt. But truthfully, has he really bust a lung sprinting or tracking back in all his times here? A talisman we wanted him to be all along and yet he couldn't even able to last a match start to finish in so many occasions. He's just isn't trying hard enough, and if more of us can admit it, there are lesser excuses conjured up for him, because they are really running low now. His 200k per week is almost 4.5 times of what Martinez is earning now. Imagine loaning him out can free up the funds to buy Martinez. That's how big and fat his check currently is and he's still nowhere being ashame of his performance.

I agree with the sentiment, based on yesterday's game it looks like we'll need a lot more stamina and output to see out games and Tanguy hasn't provided that consistently for us. That being said, to answer the question in bold, he has done it a couple of times last season. There was a league game where he was subbed off around 60 mins in, but even just before that he was tracking back and running around and winning the ball. Looked annoyed to come off, as if he still had a lot more gas in the tank. There was another game, Europa League (I think qualifiers), where he played a full 90 and in the last few minutes of the game he sprinted from the final third back to our box to help out the defence and intercept the ball. He has it in his locker, but his fitness would have to improve considerably if we were to get that sort of stamina out of him regularly.

If recent ITK is true and he could be used as leverage to get us a player we need more, then fair enough and that could be some good business. If he ends up staying, I hope Nuno can mould him into the image of the team.

It's not just about fitness, Kane and Sessegnon aren't fit but they are registered for ECL, it's more than that.
I don't have any special knowledge regarding this but I don't think it's physical fitness. He looks fitter than ever in pictures and video. I think he struggles with mental fitness for whatever reason. This would also explain why managers also seem to be very vague when talking about him.

They’ve only been registered for the two upcoming playoff matches.

If we go through to the group stage, we would need to submit a new list to UEFA.
I know but only him and Aurier aren't registered for upcoming 2 matches and Ndombele started training sooner than Sessegnon and Kane.

Always an explanation for Tanguy.... Why Managers are vague when they are talkning about him is more likely because they cannot talk about the clubs 60m asset in terms of lazy, Overweight and a guy who every time it gets a little bit tough for him, he wants out. Wanted out after 3 weeks with Poch training, Wanted out with Mourinho, got dropped immediately by mason and same saga now with Nuno. When are we going to stop defending this joke of a player ? Screaming Adel Taarabat arrogance all over him.

Really love to watch him on the ball, but if he's not doing it by December then we'd have to really look at cutting our losses, and even that's way too generous for some. If there was an opportunity to put him in a league better suited to him, then we'd do a lot worse than chucking him plus cash to Inter for Skriniar or Martinez, and telling them to keep the balance of the Eriksen money to pay some of the wages.

I think that it’s a psychological issue with Tanguy and maybe Nuno has left him out for the two games to try and see if he can improve the player on that aspect, before deciding to include him in the list, should we qualify for the group stage.

This is unreasonable.

We are allowed to support him just as much as you are allowed to criticize him. Doesn't mean there is a "cult" like following, it just means some of us think he can improve mentally and prove his worth.

We are never going to get the money back, we won't find a team willing to take him on his wages so why not wait it out and see how he does under Nuno? He hasn't had much of a chance.

However this doesn't mean you need to think the same and vice versa. I respect that you may not feel the same and you may want him out, fair enough.

Different opinions make the conversation interesting, there's no need for labelling us delusional or a cult.

Both Aaron Lennon and dries mertens has openly talked about their big problems around depression and mental issues, but they have never shown up with a belly year after year after year have they ? All of a sudden without any information everyone here has inside information around Tanguys day to day life and know how he feeling. Come on..... haha the guy is just lazy

I agree. We all have different opinions, but to support and (not) criticize a player that clearly is unprofessional by not taking care of his body year after year is a looser mentality (in my opinion) Look at Real fans, they absolutely battered Hazard when he came back looking like having a baby. They dont come up with cleaver excuses or says "lets give him time.... you are paid to be fit, thats it. Really a looser mentality to accept that

Shitty Situation. Our best best is to work with him in my eyes. No Club that wants him, can afford his wages.
We could of course loan him and pay a part of his wages, to loan him to Italy as example.

But for what. He either plays shitty and we lost money for no reason, or he plays good and could've done the same for us without losing money.

I'm sure Nuno would love to work with him but if he's not putting in the effort required to be part of our midfield, then he doesn't get in the squad. Look at the sheer amount of work put in yesterday by all 10 outfield players, but specifically the 3 in midfield. That's what he needs to do but I don't think he can be trusted.

I appreciate your concerns and share them to a certain degree but I'm not sure that I've seen Ndombele sporting a "beer belly".

And how can you be sure that the guy is lazy?
The point is, no one on here knows what's going on with him behind the scenes.

If I can play devil's advocate here

Tanguy didn't return to training fat, that picture shows him as slim as he's ever been. Unfortunately there was a twitter rumor which said he came back fat and unfit and a lot of the critics have run with that narrative without any substantial evidence to back it up.

In all honesty, he may be fit but not fit enough to start. The players ahead of him have all played preseason games when he was away attending to his family matters and he may not be up to speed for Nuno's system just yet.

I know there is a bit of impatience around him regarding his fitness but he was our 5th hardest worker last season. He had a ton of game time yet everyone seems to think he was unfit because he was always subbed for a defensive replacement (Thanks Jose) and those tactics/changes had no bearing on his match fitness. Yet its become common "knowledge" that he CAN'T finish 90 mins, not that he wasn't allowed to which is the truth of the matter.

Until he has a couple months under Nuno I will reserve my judgement and give him the benefit of the doubt.

We can always revisit this in December when we have a better idea, and potential suitors will have a better idea of finances with crowds being back.

Benefits us in both senses to be patient just a little longer.
