Or he just does not rate the competion at all. It's worse than the league cup tbh, nobody of us wanted to play it.
fuck that, this is exactly the type of competition big clubs end up winning whether the wanted to be in it or not. City win the league cup year in year out. Chelsea win the EL whenever they’re in it. We aren’t the type of club to say this competition isn’t big enough for us. We need to win whatever’s in front of us, have to start from somewhere

We’ll play the big boys second leg and blow them away, we all know how bad our second string is, tonight just proves that to Nuno

Maybe we should just make a few extra subs to get disqualified and save ourselves the embarrassment.

On the plus side, perhaps this will be the catalyst to get Paratici to pull the trigger on a few signings…

Fuming. Nuno should have taken more senior players for the bench at least. To beat City then lose this? That momentum should have been continuing.

Sheer arrogance to think this squad was good enough for tonight.

Don't blame Scarlett or Sessegnon or the new signings or John. The rest have been so good damn poor. Winks is not good enough. Carter-Vickers not good enough. Doherty not good enough. Lo Celso is better than this. Davies is better than this.
So you’d rather take the first team out and disrupt our plans for Sunday’s match?

What’s the fuss? Our cobbled together reserve team have done okay against the team that finished fifth in Portugal last season. Imagine if Sissoko, N’dombele, Aurier and Kane had the bollocks on them to contribute to this side? Well done the youngsters, and our first team fringe have minutes in the legs.

What is going on with the positions, Doherty at LCB, Davies at CB and Romero at RCB?

I think this match very neatly sums up how little pre-season means.

A few weeks ago CCV was allegedly better than Dier and John should be in the first team squad.

There's usually a reason managers don't think certain players are good enough/ready.
Too much of the second string involved. Needed a Dele or Lucas or Dier (yes Dier).

At least Nuno will have learnt more about his fringe players tonight and also we need more players in the squad.

Scandalous how we haven’t given Scarlett a chance tonight. When I saw the scale of rested players I feared this. Not hard on Nuno, but he needs to learn from this and not trust certain established players ever again.

This ref is probably one of the worst I have ever seen, and we see a lot of them every season in our games.
