Not see it as had to stop watching to go pick my kid up! Was it a big crash or just a bump into the side?It depends on the car, he might need a gearbox change

I would recommend you watch the highlights, its definitely worth it! He was pushing his car to the limit and clipped the inside of the car in the last corner, which then sent him into the wall. Not see it as had to stop watching to go pick my kid up! Was it a big crash or just a bump into the side?
Precautionary I think they said.So not a huge crash, but probably more worrying that he stopped, unless he did that as a precaution?

Hopefully his gearbox is fucked.
Both him and Lewis fitted new gearboxes for this weekend, and yeah its a 5 place penalty I think. Is Max's gearbox older than 5 races? If so no penalty is what I understand, but if less than 5 it's a 5 place drop?

I wonder what his time would've been if he'd just wound it back a fraction into that last turn? That was a serious lap time he was putting up there, hell of a shame for him.
Tomorrow will be either a race full of incidents or a bit of a parade - overtaking here must be absolutely terrifying.
Was purple in both first & second sectors so you’d think he could have coasted that final turn and still taken pole but he woujdntvff he a e knoen that at the time and was pushing like mad.
Expecting very little overtaking but a couple of safety cars ‘should’ make sure the race doesn’t get stretched out too far. Some clever tactics by Horner and we could see it tight at the front (still not heard if Max’s car needs a new gearbox or not)
Worth noting though, that Lewis in his pole lap gained nearly 2tenths on Verstappen after being behind in the first two sectors, so if you consider compared to lewis, he is storming the first 2 but lost the third, it would have been very tightWas purple in both first & second sectors so you’d think he could have coasted that final turn and still taken pole but he woujdntvff he a e knoen that at the time and was pushing like mad.

I didn't see the race last year and know it's changed slightly so I am only going by practice and qualifying, but I was struggling to see great overtaking places, the track looks so narrow! And corners where they have to slow down in having no run off areas....I just hope I am wrong and we do see a good race. I just have in my head it looks like another MonacoI wonder what his time would've been if he'd just wound it back a fraction into that last turn? edit: Once again, people putting as much effort into hating on Max as they appear to do yankin' it over Lewis - how has anybody got time for that? I don't want any cars to break, I want to see a race.
You'd be surprised how little time/effort is required to dislike an odious little toad like Max.edit: Once again, people putting as much effort into hating on Max as they appear to do yankin' it over Lewis - how has anybody got time for that? I don't want any cars to break, I want to see a race.
