Does it really matter who manages this pathetic squad anymore?

Maybe we should take turns each week, maybe an upgrade your season ticket to have a chance at managing the team.

We all knew he wouldnt stay for long, he was clearly brought in at a point in the season where we still had 4 competitions to go for, Levy and Paratici were blinded by the big name and felt this squad could do something.

If he goes then so be it, probably the best manager we could ever obtain but wasted by owners who don’t want to invest in the club. Its getting tiresome that we go through the same motions of getting rid of players and managers whilst the root of the problem remains the same. To think we mocked Arsenal for so long when they hit a similar routine and lacked CL football for so long…now we are following the same path. CL will be a distant memory before too long.

I’m completely fed up with the board as much as the next man but for Conte to suggest we should’ve had everything sorted in one window is pretty ludicrous. Especially considering it’s harder in January. If he’s not seriously backed in the summer then sure kick off, quit.

To suggest now throwing in the towel frankly is pathetic. Everyone knows we were in transition and we’ve got a load of surgery to do to this squad but it would take a bit of time. If he looked at this shower of shite squad and thought we should be anything but what we are then he’s deluded. To be honest he’s an amazing manager but this up and down press conference nonsense really isn’t helping. Get behind it, build some foundations and show a bit of patience until the summer (Levy can’t actually do anything transfer wise until then ya know) then reassess or bugger off.

If buggers off maybe we could do what a lot of fans have suggested and get a Potter in with a philosophy and create a 5 year rebuild without the manager suggesting quitting after a few losses.

Every Italian knows this is just drama. These freak outs play out all the time in my family.

The situation has not been good and he’s extremely disappointed. He’ll sleep and go back at it tomorrow.

We played Burnley away in the freezing rain, they scored a perfect goal and we weren’t clinical. The season isn’t over, and Conte won’t walk. We need to do better and will have learned from this match.

I think he hit the nail squarely on the head there. The coaches have changed but the squad remains the same. I’d go one step further and say the board haven’t changed….I’m hoping for a change of mentality from the board regarding what is needed to achieve what we all want.
I don’t think it means he’s out at all. He’s giving an honest opinion on the situation. Even the best managers in the world gets fired and he’s no different. He saying that the club will have to make an assessment as to if he is the right fit. Can’t he turn shit to sugar? Maybe that’s what the club wants and may decide he can’t do that, or they may decide to change the mentality and accept that it takes huge investments to achieve in the league due to the money bag owners that are throwing the right cash around to get the players they need to achieve their objective. Some on here call it buying success but unfortunately it’s going to take that type of investment to keep up.

We we’re told that the main bulk of the rebuild will be done in the summer. I feel that if the investment is not made then, he will walk. We have fans saying that he knew how Levy operates and how tight he is with the cash but are we forgetting he turned the job done previously stating we were not the right project for him? What changed to make him sign for us months after? I can only guess that Levy agreed with Conte’s assessment of what was needed to complete the project and hopefully Conte didn’t get Levy’ed!
I would say let’s wait until the summer as see where we go from there before we start speculating on if Conte will walk or not.
I also think that he says stuff that’s clear in his head but due to the language it comes across or is interpreted negatively.

He’s so pissed off. I think he just wants to talk to the club get an arm round the shoulder from Daniel and Fabio and say look we understand this season is difficult, if you finish 8,10th etc that is fine we understand but we know you’re ambitious and we are too and in summer we will give you exactly what you need not just for top4 challenge but to be competitive to win titles. They need to remind him look what the team did away at man.city, they have potential but we need to get you 6-7 players of top top quality to get you the consistency to win titles. (Huge huge pivotal time for Levy & Paratici now, make the wrong words and moves and we lose a genuine world class managsr

If he doesn’t hear that and get ? assurances of that then yea I think he might well walk.

But for me that was just an extremely passionate ambitious meticulous italian man and world class manager who hasn’t ever experienced this and doesn’t want to keep experiencing this.

He’s shooting from the hip being honest saying he won’t accept this and he doesn’t think the club will either but the reality is the results were like this before he came.

I’m going to hang my hat here and say I think he will stay for now and we need to get us to this up and down but if we do lose to Leeds for example that might just tip him over the edge.

Just seems fairly upset, he is not as emotionally controlled like Pep, Poch, or even Nuno. Its part of his personality. You have to accept it. He just says things off the cuff and comes across as a SUPER passionate guy. If we back him in the summer, he will be happy Conte. Until the season is over though, get used to him being up and down.

Watching that suggests to he’s saying there are too many players that aren’t good enough. We know that.

Got to love Tottenham Hotspur!

Let's try and disect that interview....

- He's Italian
- He's a born winner who hates losing, so he's going to be emotional after losing to Burnley
- Within the last 48 hours, he's come out and said how happy he is working for the club
- He's Italian
- He's putting immense pressure on the club to deliver in the summer
- He knows we can't change the squad between now and then so what is the purpose of the comments?! To ensure he's backed significantly in the summer
- He's Italian

I've seen comments such as he's taking responsibility and not throwing the team under the bus. Well he is holding his hands up but in my opinion, there isn't a doubt in his mind that he's not good enough. The key part to take away is the same players, same results.

Let's just see what happens. Everyone is emotional after the loss, but most of us knew it was coming, as that's what we have historically done after a fantastic result. Conte isn't used to it happening though, so he's going to be emotional.

Final point, if he walks, comments such as Levy is fucked, he will have to walk etc are ludicrous. Yes he had a bit of a roasting a good few months back, but our Chairman isn't going to walk away or be given his marching orders.

It's a tough time to support Spurs. But let's all just take a step back and see what happens. Conte knows he will be backed, the question is, can he ride it out until the summer?!

Final point....he's Italian.
I don’t think Conte knows he will be backed at all.

Absolutely sick to the back teeth of these loser players. We lose Conte and Kane is gone. We are utterly fucked. Would be typical Spurs too to hire Conte and it ends in farce.

The players are pathetic. Truly pathetic. From the mistakes against wolves, the Southampton performance and tonight. Fuck them.
Which players are you talking about though ? Presumably not Son, Kane, Romero or Lloris. Bentancur and Kulusevski started today, two new signings who Conte is evidently a fan of. Probably not them either. Dier has been undoubtedly excellent this season and Hojbjerg has been very important since he joined a year and a half ago. I get that we need to improve the squad but I do feel the hatred towards the club and players that is currently being induced by Conte chucking his toys out the pram after every loss is irrational. We bit the bullet getting Conte in November, had a reasonable January window and by all accounts are willing to back the manager in the summer. Losses are inevitable atm, the Premier League is super competitive and we are at the start of a process. Burnley were unlucky against Liverpool and have taken points from Brighton, Arsenal and Man Utd in recent weeks. No team has a divine right to win every game, and we are Spurs not Man Utd. Conte knew the score when he joined.

And I agree with you... I like his mentality which is to win win win... and there is a reason why we got him here - to help us achieve that. But he is being a **** in all honesty - if we were winners, we wouldnt have the need to hire him and pay 15m a year.

He is also to blame, he needs to be flexible in his approach, the players he is using etc.

I suspect he gets paid win bonuses and right now his salary is affected by that

Yeah I hear you

I just refuse to back these players that have been constantly dragging us through the mud over an elite manager who's, yeah , probably getting too emotional.

So many need turfing out and I'm up for the fireworks if it speeds the up the process.

But I suppose I'm not considering AC actually leaving , which maybe I should be ?

Bang on.

to add to this Conte is human after all and mabye he’s worried about his job as he knows the reality of football.

(he shouldn’t be as we’d be idiotic to fire him but he has lost 4/5 last games so it’s not a good situation recently)

I've had enough. You turned on Poch, Mourinho and now you're turning on Conte. Anyone who still backs these players over the manager is a complete and utter moron. How many fucking times do you need the same shit to happen over and over before you realised that the constant here is the squad. This is insanity.

We all know the squad needs to change and I have not seen one person disagreeing or arguing against that BUT what can we do until the summer...

If we allowed Poch to rebuild when he said we needed it - the chances are we wouldnt be here a few years later further regressed. Thats on Levy I get it... but if we are now tryign to change things (and im only speculating) then that will take time - unfortunately that cant happen soon enough for Conte which makes him the right manager the wrong time.

I mentioned that he is one manager too soon - he doesnt want to rebuild - he wants to win... a rebuild wont take one summer, winning wont take one year.

We will need the spurs media team to sort this out pronto. Shouldn't he have done the in house interview by now?
