We play united this week so expect the media to ramp up their usual nonsense.

It’s not even necessarily a Kane thing. Our best players being linked with united during game week is an annual occurrence that goes back to the Fergie days.
We have a better manager, arguably now better players with the two January additions (Romero, Reguilon, Bentancur, Son, Kane, Kulusevski would all get into this United side with most other positions being a toss up) and United haven't won a trophy for 5 years. But you won't hear a peep about Fernandes, Ronaldo etc needing to leave United to win trophies or links with a move to Spurs.

He still has 2 years left on his contract after this Summer.
And he will be the same age then as when Teddy left to win it all. I can see him running his contract down knowing that next summer Levy would have to make a decision whether to take a hit for an additional 12 months.

It depends who we get in beforehand. If we get a quality striker in then it probably means we can afford to let him run down his contract. The strategy being to gamble that we win something close to its expiry and he extends, otherwise we will have to sell at some point, because any replacement would likely cost us at least £70m you'd think. It's why i'm hoping we can somehow do a deal for Dybala.

United, no? They will need a top striker in the summer with Cavani and Ronaldo going..
If Conte is still here and he's given a semblance of backing going to United would be idiotic. I'd argue he'd be much more likely to win here than United. History doesn't dictate the future, and even then United have won fuck all this past 5 years.

If Kane wanted to tarnish his Spurs legacy surely you'd want to almost guarantee yourself some pots. In England only City and Liverpool make sense therefore.

I agree. With the world cup in November and him being the national team captain is it a good summer to want to move? I don’t think so.

Besides he’s said many times that he will play on until his mid 30s. He knows he’s got a few years left in him and probably is more than happy to give it a go under Conte next season.

Which is what 've been hearing for months. There was even talk of a new contract, but I think it's perfectly understandable that he waits to see if Conte is backed in the Summer and the quality of players we bring in. I'd imagine his willingness to sign a new contract will be very much tied to our ambition and Conte staying another season at the very least. No mention of must qualify for Champions league, just that he wanted to see some ambition from the board. Conte is a good signal of that, now get him some quality players to bolster that stance.

All that said it's still very much the case that it's not his decision to make if he leaves this Summer or not, regardless of any of any of those factors mentioned above.

Another crucial point is that he is only 25 goals now behind Greaves. If he gives us another season, the very least he is going to leave as our record goal scorer and a club legend.

I just can't see him giving up that record when it's so close knowing how obsessed he is.

Yep. If I was him I wouldnt sign a contract with us either, I would go and try something new at the end of his current one. If he had a proper agent they’d now be telling him to either run it down or wait one more year. We can all understand how he must feel, most fans feel the same way with our relationship with the club currently.

Just watching the 2nd half. Kane 2nd goal really is ridiculous, most players would have embarrassed themselves had they tried that. Totally scuffed it and fallen over. Just so unbelievably hard and he made it look so easy, would be hard enough on your best foot but on your wrong foot that’s a mad goal.

Imagine that Zokora won something with us and Kane doesn't lol
Do not begrudge Zokora. He and he rest of that team had one final, and they turned up and won, because the likes of Zokora did what they had to do.

Kane has been to at least 3 finals and had not done what he had to do. So he is also responsible as to why he hasn't won a final.

If we don’t get CL next season then he should leave. He’s irreplaceable, but a player like Harry needs trophies and sadly we haven’t been able to deliver. He’s giving us his whole career even though he did try to leave last summer. Can anyone actually blame him? End of the day he’s one of the best players in the world and we haven’t matched his ambition. I love Harry and to be honest I want to see him win trophies. He will always be a spurs legend no matter what path he takes from here.

He’s not “giving” us anything. He’s superbly paid. There is a train of thought that says maybe if he performed in finals he might have a trophy or two. Not bashing him at all, you make him sound like we’ve kidnapped him and his career tho. ?

Nah, mate. Both of Kane & Conte will sign new contracts just before the summer, after we finish in the top 3 (not gonna stop saying it) & Chelsea are just something for us to look at at & say "remember when they used to beat us for fun".

If Haaland to City is true what actually options does he have ?

Liverpool- can’t really see it although he could play the firmino role
United- A mess why would you, maybe if pochettino goes.
Chelsea- obviously not
Newcastle- can’t see that
PSG - pochettino getting sacked so likely no
Madrid- never been linked and getting Mbappe

He’d win it all with the current Liverpool team imo. He’s exactly what they need.

Him pinging balls in behind to Salah and Mane & TAA and Robertson sending crosses in for him.. Let’s just hope that never happens :nailbiting: :nailbiting:

Not sure I get this idea he would go to Utd if Poch goes there. He won us nothing, as great a job as he did. We now have a higher pedigree manager. With Conte staying next season I expect Kane to stay too. If we're not challenging next season they will both go.
