I dread to think what might happen if they get fourth. Despite their financial losses they sound like they are properly going for it and have sorted themselves out. We need to pull our fingers out.

Didn't want to spam the Chelski thread with this question but I presume Usamov's money will be no good soon if these sanctions are going to be in any way applied consistently? Potential knock-on issues with Everton's ties to him as well?

Usmanov has no involvement with Arsenal any more.

In August 2018, Kroenke's offer of £550 million for Usmanov's share was accepted, and Kroenke bought out the remainder of the shares to become the club's sole shareholder.[3]

Thanks mate, rings a bell now. I knew he wasn't the major shareholder and I think he only got up to about a 30% stake when he was involved. So it was after that point he put some funds into Everton it seems.

If they got back into the UCL they would have a similar schedule. If you want to be successful you play more games than anyone. Add needlessly postponing games and this is what you get. No sympathy from me.

The Premier League have actually used common sense. Chelsea play in the CL the first two weekdays of April. The Arsenal game goes in the third weekday. If Chelsea win their CL quarter Final then they play again in the fourth weekday of April and first weekday of May. There's a reasonable chance of that, so they wouldn't put the Arsenal game on those days. That leaves two more weekdays until the end of the season. If Chelsea beat Middlesborough in the Cup they'll have to move one game and then another if they reach the FA Cup Final. So, Arsenal moaning about the Premier League is completely wrong.

Unlikely, but if Southampton beat City in the Cup Arsenal's game against Southampton will also be moved to a weekday. Oh, that'll be unfair too. Their reaction to our yet-to-be rearranged game will be interesting....

Arteta has got so used to having 9-10 days between games this year he's forgotten top 6 clubs regularly play midweek games. Such a weird thing to have an outburst about.

I really hope they start to falter as their schedule gets back to normal levels.

Sounds like they are being helpful and arranging the games to help Chelsea out in the CL. Annoying its them but it is something that the PL have been criticised for not doing in the past by every manager under the sun. So for once they are actually doing a good thing. Plus if it annoys Arsenal then I want to see more of it!

SSN dissecting Ramsdale’s performance and piling pressure on him this morning for the first goal last night. Good.

His positioning was awful.

I think a lot of what Ramsdale has been praised for is shot stopping rather than anything else.

I wonder if Arsenal's defence have done a good job of preventing him from facing situations where he needs to come collect etc.

Because I seem to remember at Sheffield United he made several clangers in those scenarios

The Chelsea midweek fixture could definitely be a pivotal week they have;

Southampton A
Chelsea A
United H

We have:

Brighton H
Brentford A

Not inconceivable that could be their game in hand gone and we make up points as well that week.
