I'd much prefer the first option thanks!

Me too, but at least we will finally know the truth either way.

Levy deserves credit for appointing FP and subsequently Conte, no question, notwithstanding previous fuck ups. I don't think Levy did all of that and then wouldn't back him. I suppose the question is, how much will we back Conte. Will we back Conte to a level Conte feels is sufficient? Or do we back Conte to a level that Levy feels is sufficient? These could be poles apart.

Anyway, plenty of time to mull over that in the summer, I am ecstatic and I do believe we will finally back him this summer. Optimistic unless proven otherwise.

Id expect a new contract for Conte, levy is not stupid, players and fans want Conte! If that heppens, il be the 1st to put my hands up and say well done. I could see us trying for the league with Conte, he's that good.

Are we really doing this again? Literally hours after we have just secured CL with a 5:0 away win and been told any number of times that he (Conte) will be backed in the Summer? Do you lot take this outlook into other areas of your life? Asking for a friend (CBT accredited practitioner).

I don't know why people still get their knickers in a twist when the manager talks in these terms. He's been doing it ever since he arrived and he won't be drawn into making empty promises or guarantees, no matter how many times he's asked the same repeated questions.

What he has said today is that he believes that finishing 4th is an achievement worth celebrating, BUT he wants more.

I believe him when he says he's enjoying his time at Tottenham and I'm sure he'd love to be here next season. He just wants to make sure that the chairman & everyone else at the club are on the same page as him when it comes to the height of our ambitions.

Many of us have been critical of the club in the past for failing to capitalise when we've put ourselves into a strong position. Conte is going to make sure that those mistakes are not repeated on his watch. Quite rightly he sees CL qualification as a step on the journey to bigger things, rather than an end in itself. I think we should all be delighted to have someone like that in charge. There will be nowhere to hide for our chairman and the board this summer.
Indeed, I love the way he talks. He's not content with making up UCL numbers but wants to win trophies. I would want no other manager in world football at the club right now. What happens from here will clearly show the true ambitions of the club.

I am slightly concerned about PSG, but apart from them I just dont see where Conte would go to.
PSG seems like an awful fit for Conte and vice versa. Can you imagine that squad of egos + Conte's disciplinarian approach? I doubt Mbappe and Neymar would be happy playing to Conte's strict patterns.

It's ironic, because Conte's winning mentality is what would finally win them a CL. But they'd cry off before they got anywhere near it.

Its a total wrong fit but no idea... just see them as a team running out of options - the only other one is Zidane for them - which no doubt Mbappe has selected personally.

I do think Conte will sign a contract, think Levy will say look if we are spending so much the least we need is you signing. Dont think it would be right us spending so much on players Conte wants only for him to bugger off after a year... anyways thats not for now but will be somethign I imagine is on the table.

All that in turn will also mean Kane signs a contract I think.

I know we keep hearing there's a 'plan' in place but I don't blame him.

Walk the walk etc.

Actions always speak louder than words.
Obviously it would be terrible news if Conte left but now we've got CL and improved the squad it wouldn't be the disaster as expected a few months ago with Pochettino or Potter in with considerable backing. So i'm a little more relaxed about it now.

Actually I wouldn't be surprised if Levy would rather Conte was on another relatively short contract. If he signs for five years and it all goes south, that would cost a fortune on his wages.

I'm more annoyed they still keep asking him about his future
The press doing what the press are going to do. It's not surprising. Remember when they kept bringing up United with Poch? Just ignore all the talk. Thankfully the season has ended so won't get many more chances to talk until pre-season at least.

Lets face it, Conte has an ego and his ego will want to battle both Pep and Klopp and Tuchel but he also wants the tools to do that. That is what I think would drive him because I dont think he wants to go to any other league.

I owuld like Conte to sign say another two years onto the one year - a three year cycle would shut up the journalists and cement the future for a bit (I use cement loosely)

You reckon Conte would join a club where a player has more powert than he does?

Well done Antonio. I'm a Levy supporter and I hope that he considers that it will be cheaper in the long run to give Conte what he wants now.
I'm also hopeful that Conte realises where we are in the pecking order of football. I hope we can give him enough tools for him to be happy. And I hope he doesn't throw his toys out the pram if we get gazzumed by the big 2 in Spain or Pool and City.

He’s obviously not going to commit to staying now, he’s at the height of his bargaining power. I remember we all complained in the Redknapp days when he said CL qualification was ‘as good as it gets’ for us. Conte wants more. Good for him, and good for us.

He has again committed to staying. He said he has a contract to next summer after the match today. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Conte has Levy right where he wants him.

Levy has no choice but to back him - it would be absolute bedlam if he walked and would be such a clear sign that the club has no ambition.

I'm very confident that he will be given the necessary funds to push us on.
Absolutely.

You can tell that Conte is a master at playing politics. Jose talked a good game but you never ever got the impression he would ever walk away if he didn't get what he wanted, while Poch gave Levy far too much licence.

With Conte, though, Levy literally has no choice. If we don't back him with serious money he will cash in his chips and walk.

Deep down Conte probably fully expects to stay next season and seems to have a real bond with the players and club, but even in the press conference today he was careful not to overcommit or give an inch of power away.

He knows exactly what he's doing.

I think us fans are in a lucky position. Either Conte is backed by the club and we go on to great things, or Conte walks and then there can be no doubt that under Levy and ENIC, there is no real ambition to win things, it's simply to try and get CL whilst investing the bare minimum.

We will know either way this summer, there is no hiding place for Levy and the board.
Spurs just capped off an extremely improbable CL run so can you keep your Levy bashing in your pocket and just enjoy the moment?

I came into this thread to read all the well-deserved praise heaped on one of the best managers currently in the game. Not read the usual suspects usual anti-Levy agenda. Wrong day for it. Wrong thread for it.
