Conte can be flexible but he prefers the LCB to be the ball player and the one to bring the ball out. A tough tackling CCB would be ideal for him.
I doubt he cares which side the ball playing CB plays, it's probably more determined by what players they have around them tbh.

I am still hopeful, but i can see us going back in for him next summer, and we take Lenglet on loan this season and see how things turn out.

but i really hope... somehow the stars aline and we get him.

I'm convinced there is no deadline, not in the way it was reported.

Inter can do all sort of exotic financial things to get around it.

just seems like a false dawn, a blind alley.

I haven't really got this logic at all. Other teams will sniff around next summer, circumstances change, Conte a year into the future is unpredictable.

I don't think it's an inter deadline, I think it's ours before we move on because we need them to start pre-season.

I don't think its either. June 30th is the end of the fiscal year for most of the teams. So people have translated that to a deadline that teams have to get things done by which doesn't seem true in reality.

I think there’s a tax change also that goes into effect Jul 1, so signings they make before that date are cheaper.
