He doesn't though, we've played the same way under numerous managers.

We even had Kulu speak recently about how the players don't play until they are behind, it's not the way they are set out to play.

It's just fucking weak, feeble, shit mentality whatever you want to call it, but when the core of our team are more concerned about losing a game than winning it, we won't do shit.
The mentality peaked halfway through Poch's tenure and has generally gone downhill since, except for brief interludes.

The question that needs to be answered is can Conte motivate the players? Can he inspire them? He constantly infers that players aren't good enough so that's clearly not motivating.

We can't make everyone look like Premier League champions. At some point we have to say we have good enough players to challenge for top 4 if Conte is an elite manager. If he isn't, then fine, he can't coach and motivate so spend loads of money

That's a fair point, but then are we happy to just fight for top 4 is the real question?

Conte isn't here to get just get a top 4 spot every year, he wants to win something, and he's right when he infers our current squad aren't good enough to actually win something.

We either act like a big club and build a strong squad, or we settle for competing for top 4 and hope for a nice cup run very few years.

We can't be both, so at some point we need to decide as a club where we want to be.

Will that happen with Poch back as many are screaming for ? ... or another former Chelsea manager in Tuchel...

At least we know Conte is trying to challenge the board to be more aggressive every window.

Personally I'm not screaming for Conte to go, although I wouldn't be that upset if he did, or for Poch to come back. At some point you have to look for the common denominators, and that's the core group of players, the club captain, and the owners. In fact Poch coming back might make things worse, because he'll turn to the players he knows.

Poch would at least make them run and press, rather than ambling around without a care in the world.

Not that I think this is all on Conte, the problems run far deeper, yes that you Levy I’m talking about.

We have had 3 defensive coaches on the trot - no one is buying into it - neither players nor fans - appoint someone who wants to take the game to the oppo - it will suit the current players more and give us a much larger group of transfer targets for the future - i cant take the tedious boring football anymore
I've been saying the same for months getting endless shit over it.

The trophy brigade need to understand that the game has moved on and this low-block nonsense just will not win us anything.

We came so close under poch playing good, aggressive football with basically zero investment! Yet so many have decided that he isn't good enough for us anymore.

seems to be exactly the same scenario we had under Jose. But of course jose was the problem (I also wanted him to go), not the board / players (note sanchez, Dier, Davies, Lloris still there and not getting adequate back up for Kane - note Vinicius and Gedson loans!) and now we find ourselves hearing the same stuff from conte.

what’s next, sack conte, bring in the likes of Nagelsmann who has to play Dier and Sanchez and the the results are shite, he says the same thing as Jose / Conte but gets sacked.

repeat.

Both our wide centre backs way too slow at getting the ball out to wingbacks

But then again if the option for romero is to Doherty who then just passes back to him then what's the point?

Any of Conte and Jose success were based on son and Kane being 8/10 every week and scoring worldys , both players are past their peak and Sonny especially looks More championship than champions league .

I don't think Kane is capable of anything more than a gentle amble these days.

Perhaps the match got the better if me tbh but numerous people cry about ratings and it grinds my gears. Sorry
No worries! I was certainly frustrated! I wasn’t bothered about the rating just wondered the reason for it.

This is the issue these days, everyone thinks a system will work for every team and one way is better than the other.

The real issue we have, is we can't play that way now though, so we have changed the way we play to suit the players we have.

Son and Kane cannot do a high aggressive press anymore, so we either accept they both need to leave, or we change the system to accommodate them which we are trying to do.

On the couple of occasions both Richy and Kulu play we have been more aggressive and pressing high, especially with Benta pushing up from midfield.

I just think wishing for a high aggressive press is pointless when you look at who we are playing up front.

Levy would be insane to give Conte any more money.

His 3-5-2 is predictable, pedestrian and easily nullified.

For it to take over fifteen minutes at home against a team with one away victory all season, for one of the best strikers in World football to get his first touch of the ball speaks volumes of Conteball.

Call out the players all you want, but a manager that has seen his side fall behind first in ten straight games must now start to be questioned whatever players at his disposal.

Which manager could get this group of players in to 4th last season and pushing for top 4 this season?
Eddie Howe doing better with worse and he not even spent much yet. We have had 6 weeks of no football so the non-WC players should have been fit and ready. Just shows no effective coaching was done whilst players were away.

Sorry can't agree
I don't want oil money or horrible owners to come in

Then enjoy more of what you see before you.

I can't think of many if any Liverpool, Newcastle City or Chelsea fans who think their owners are "horrible" but i can think of several thousand Spurs fans who think our owners are.
