I don’t need a manager to pull the wool over my eyes. I would appreciate one who’s won two of the last ten, both in the last minute and just lost 2-0 to Villa to not treat us like he’s doing a favour by just being here.
Or one who got us 4th from nowhere last season over the Messiah arteta

Spot on. Every loss now is greeted by mass outrage and soul searching. Literally EVERY LOSS.

There is no way we’re ever gonna give a manager time for all the pieces he needs to build a strong squad if there is this wailing every time we hit an inevitable bad patch. It creates a toxic atmosphere and unless the board are really strong it will mean the end of the manager, whoever they are.

It happens at every club though. Just look at Liverpool’s defeat and Carragher and the wider media’s reaction to it - they need to go out and spend £200 million!

It is the same with us. I swear we are at a point in the human race where we are the thickest and most short term and tv/social media/the papers feeds off this and makes it worse. If everyone just put down their phone, turned off the tv etc and went and did something then they’d realise it’s just a loss. Teams can’t win every week.

Yeah it’s exhausting. People seem so desperate to win that they’ll accept anything, but we were here before him and we’ll be here after he goes.

Some of us are desperate to win. All we wanna see is a proper attempt at backing our manager for once. Win or lose at least the club from top to bottom are united in 1 goal.

Well nobody and I mean nobody has said he is getting the best out of what we have. We can not let this get in the way of the bigger picture though. Not when he's the only one who has been willing to say how it really is publicly.
It is clear that Conte achieved with an inadequate squad as did Poch. They both called for a major overhaul (as did Jose when he understood the technical quality of the squad). The problem is that Levy is refusing to understand that you can achieve above expectations for a relatively short period of time but that cannot be sustained. The squad realizes this and know many of them will be surplus to requirements and then they are either unable to keep up the enhanced level of performance and become fatigued, both physically and mentally, and or they become demotivated and disruptive (be it deliberate or feeling safe on large long term contracts). The same happens in business. Many of us worked with teams who have been set targets beyond their collective skill sets. You drive the teams and they achieve beyond expectations but you know it is not sustainable. You tell the board that your teams need significant investment but they believe you and your team will meet the even higher set targets but fail as the energy fades. Levy’s approach is :X3:? whilst hoping things will work out. I believe Conte could change his team to accommodate their shortfalls. But to what end? Conte is doing the same as any other manager in this situation shouting but not being heard and he is now putting his cv on the market as he can see the trees in the wood and many need chopping. I have seen the Levy approach during business acquisitions. If that was his plan he has missed the boat.

Amazed people have an issue with what Conte has said, it's what most have been saying for years
Levy appointed Conte, he knew what he was getting, if he doesn't back him he is the idiot
What do we want, Conte to be happy finishing 5th, and yes the football isn't great at the moment but two 50m attackers are out and the other two are out of form and knackered
Pep, klopp artetas 1st season and a bit were shit as well, lot worse than this
It's one of those isn't it. It's ok for you to call your brother a twat, but if anyone else does:mad:

It's actually getting exhausting now trying to get through to them, and tbh it's probably not worth it. I don't think some of them care if we win anything or not. I don't think they get this isn't about Conte the man or how we are playing, it's about backing a guy actually trying to address the underlying problems at the club, and until those problems are addressed and overcome we will never be anything more than "Spursy". Whether they are doing it intentionally or not, the biproduct of getting Conte out is that they are enabling Levy to continue to half arse the football side of things for the foreseeable.

This really is an opportunity to stick it to Levy like we've never had before. 30 blokes outside the ground chanting and a couple of banners here and there in the ground will have no effect. If though, if, the fans get behind Conte and his message to the club, Levy has nowhere left to hide. If they don't levy has another reset, rinse and repeat.

i'd love to know what the combined start 11 would be
You can't be serious?!

I would take Ramsdale, Gabriel, Saliba, Zinchenko, Odegaard, Partey, Saka, Jesus, Martinelli to name a few and most of those would start for us.

Then as a wider squad I would take White, Tomiyasu, Xhaka and Emile Smith Rowe.

That's 13 players from their squad I would take over ours.

If it was a 23 man squad, I would take Lloris, Romero, Dier, Perisic, Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Kulusevski, Kane, Son and Richarlison.

So not only is their first 11 much stronger, their squad is also stronger than ours. Look at our bench the other day, it was a disgrace and may not look too dissimilar tonight ?. Yes we have some key injuries which would then strengthen the look of it, but it just goes to show that when we have 3 key injuries, our depth is sickening.

Keep seeing this take and It doesn’t make sense. He’s not “doing us a favour by being here.” He’s not thinking like that or saying that.
People are misconstruing it. ??‍♂️??‍♂️

their defence is on a different level for sure. Is ramsdale throwing the ball in th net every other game? Do they have Dier making individual errors or Emerson. The CB pairing they have is actually very good. Again I hate saying this shit.
How much of that is system, form and confidence, though? Is Lloris - who captained France to a WC final - really worse than Ramsdale - who sat on England’s bench? Is the Dier of last season worse than Gabriel?

What like Pochettino

"We canot operate in the same way as five years ago. It is in our hands to be in the champions league, or to win the champions league"

and dont get me started about him lunching with Ferguson or saying how much he celebrated a United CL win. Both Conte and Poch did this to pressure levy. I believe that both Conte and Poch enjoy it at Spurs, but they want to win. We dont.
Fans want to win as well. Levy has a different idea of what winning is and it’s not trophies..

It’s baffling that people don’t understand the above. ??‍♂️

They'll get Poch back, he'll be all smiley and grateful on Tv and the football will improve. Then Kane will fuck off asap, he'll be replaced by Danny Ings and 4 players no one has heard of, and after a couple of years Poch will be back in Levy's office telling him he needs a squad rebuild which will fall completely on deaf ears. Poch will decide that the only way around this is to revolutionise football with his inverted Christmas tree formation(clutching his Ardiles book of football management) the players will hate it and he'll be all sulky and miserable and gone a few months later.

Perisic better than Zinchenko so far.
You do realise when you do this you do so with a heavy defensive bias towards your own team? We all do. When they do the same on Arsemania the number of posters here calling them deluded and asking what planet are they on etc is mind blowing considering we do exactly the same.
