Wembley match winner Jonathan Woodgate is a doubt for Saturday's trip to Birmingham in the Barclays Premier League.

The central defender's man of the match display against Chelsea came despite picking up a sprained ankle in the first half of Sunday's final and he's unlikely to feature at St Andrews.
However, there is good news on the defensive front as Michael Dawson (hamstring) and Gilberto (calf) are both close to a return to full training.
Benoit Assou-Ekotto is progressing well from a knee injury while Gareth Bale hopes to come out of the protective boot on his damaged ankle next week

time for Gunter/Rocha perhaps?

It'll prob be Robbo, Hutton, Kaboul, Zokora, Chimbonda, Lennon, Jenas, Hudd, Steeeeed, Keane, Berby.

King prob won't be risked. Bent may start.

If Ssaturday was the PSV game Woodgate would play. I would of cousre be angry if we get beat but Brum but i'll accept it becasue of our whorist desire for silverware.

It's these sorts of games that are a really test for not only the players but, the management team as after the high of Sunday it would be easy to relax and think the job is done already.

Thankfully our top class management team wouldn't allow this to happen so I expect a good performance.

i dont see ramos playing kaboul and daws together this year, they need to be worked on and one of them to take the lead before that can happen

With this team news he may have no choice, on the plus side Kaboul does seem to have learned to deal with it rather than piss about with it.

Wow - I thought the earlier reports were saying Gilberto would play against Brum. "Close to a return to full training" doesn't sound like he & Dawson are match fit.

A complete wildcard, but Pekhart didn't play for the ressies in midweek. Given he's our backup striker for the UEFA Cup, I just wonder whether Ramos may be tempted to give him a few minutes of first team action.

And yes, I know that our regular reserve watchers such as BOF have been distinctly lukewarm about his reserve performances to date. But if, heaven forbid we had an injury crisis upfront in the UEFA Cup, then Pekhart is the one in line to step up.

I can see Zokora and Kaboul playing together, they were pretty good last time they played together although Zokora worries me sometimes!

I'm assuming the medical team are de-swelling Ledley's knee. I'd be surprised if Ramos trusts Kaboul and Daws yet (although does "close to full training" mean in contention for Saturday?).

I can see Zok partnering Kaboul at CB and maybe a Gilberto debut. I think Rocha is in the equivalent of Siberia within the Ramos regime I'm afraid.

Fully expect Bent to start to. Got to give the guy a run.

Something like that, most prob have Berba on the bench but really be saving him and Ledders for PSV.
