It would be terrible for the league. Two to three clubs owned by the same entity? Very dodgy. I wouldn’t like our chances of getting a fair go of it should QSI decide to invest in Liverpool and United as well as us.
I was listening to a twitter space about city yesterday and the guy who was some sort of expert explained that when City started this journey the premier League rules were really vague so over the years they have kept adding more rules and detail to combat city and others

This should be a wake up call to get real experts in to make these rules air tight from dubious owners looking to work around them. I don't know if they now are but they should be on this now.

He bid 4.25 billion for Chelsea.
He bid 2.5bn (with a commitment to spend a further 1.75bn on players and stadium in next 10 years) after the closing date had been set and therefore his bid was rejected.
I have no doubt he could afford to buy Man Utd outright, but wouldn’t use the Chelsea bid as example for his willingness to.

What you have to consider with Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE is that even though some of these people might say they are private investors etc, they are all ultimately linked and at the mercy of the royal families and investment authorities.

So if for example these Qatari's bought Man Utd, it's basically QIA investing in Utd, just in a roundabout way.

If this were to happen, the only way QSI invest in us is if Qatar are actively looking to get their hands on several PL clubs, which would be a disaster for the game because it would mean multiple clubs have the same owners, regardless of the arguments that are made on them being separate.

It's the same if the Saudi group buy Man Utd. It will essentially mean Man Utd and Newcastle have the same owners.

If you look into background, Chelsea and Newcastle already have the same active investor. It might be conveniently masked.

Make no mistake United with Ten Hag a budget that includes United’s own wealth plus Qatar topped up is Real Madrid level or more. Glazer’s have kept United down for a long time, a turbo charged United will make City and Chelsea look like minnows which in reality is what they are.

doesn’t change how much they generate themselves, their massive size/fanbase. If they have the Glazers off their neck, extra funding and a manager like Teb Hag they are going places quickly.

Is this a takeover from Qatar for us faaacked?

Raine group haven’t had any interest from Qatar, James ducker was saying this morning. So who knows what this is or if it’s serious or even true. Could be someone trying to flush bidders out.

Who knows basically, but with our luck, what do you reckon?!?!

Trying to do a deal with Levy to buy a stake in Tottenham would be a painful, protracted and ultimately pointless exercise - unless you are willing to pay way over the odds for your 15%+.

Stadium revenues are at the high end of expectations, ok there is still a shirt sleeve available and stadium naming rights, but it is hardly a commercial sleeping giant waiting to be milked, so I don't see where there is massive growth potential for a new investor / owner to exploit, other than what the future of the NFL outside the US may hold, which is highly speculative.

There are two (really 3) areas to exploit for a future owner - first is increasing commercial revenue from various sponsorships. This happens by increasing the attractiveness of the brand - winning something, going deep in CL, etc.

Second, development of the real estate holdings - specifically around the stadium. There is a fair amount of room for growth here.

And third, there is growth in the PL itself - this is certainly likely to continue for the foreseeable future - particularly if the pL continues to dominate the transfer market bringing in the top worldwide talent. And, as part of this - if there ever is a "Super" league, Spurs are nicely positioned to be part of that league - which will see even more revenue potential in terms of global broadcasting rights.

I posted last month about when the Qataris looked at us initially it was when Boris Johnson was trying to get them to invest in London and he tried to steal them in the direction of investing in the area.

Interestingly, and probably putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5, levy said in that programme last night that then next thing they want to build is the hotel and then there is a whole lot of this going to happen in the next 12 months which aren’t on the public domain yet. Maybe the chats with the Qataris are revisiting the property angle around the stadium and are actually nothing to do with investing in the club. Could be?

Would have thought any possible investors for the club will be waiting until the Government publish all their proposed legislation as regards top level clubs in England and what powers the independent regulator will have .
As usual with football most articles are "reportedly" or " a source".

Culture Secretary Michelle Donelan reportedly wants the regulator in place for the 2024/25 season and will “formally unveil legislation imminently”.
