Fact is, United are currently a better side than us, with a clear idea and strategy. And now imagine them upgrading Weghorst with Harry Kane. They surely should be up there as a challenger in that case.

Hurts to say it because a few years back we were on a way better track than them.
I think most teams are a better side than us at the moment :cautious:. But fact is, they are 4 points ahead of us in what is meant to have been a great season for them and a terrible one for us. They're out of the Champions League and they've enjoyed a purple patch which has coincided with Rashford's good form. It's fine margins and one that can easily change. If they signed Kane I still don't think the rest of their squad is anywhere close to the quality of City, and Liverpool and Chelsea won't be as bad as they have been this season. I still see United as a team challenging for top 4 and anything more than that is a bonus for them.

I'm sure if we sold Kane that we'd fall away from that pack chasing top 4 but I don't think he would propel United beyond that.

united will be up there next year
Maybe but it's not guaranteed they'll challenge for the title. Rashford will do very well to be as good next year. We could be seeing a new manager bounce. Liverpool & Chelsea will be better.

It's a risk for Kane, not like joining City when he went on strike. He could give up his Spurs legacy to join another team competing for 4th

I would say with Casemiro, Rashford, Anthony, Varane, Martinez or Bruno they don't have a too bad core. Would you have thought Arsenal are in the mix before the season started?

I wouldn't have, and obviously freek things do happen. But if we're talking about Kane leaving to secure trophies then surely we've got to talk about teams who are guaranteed success, not just have a chance if the stars align.

I don't think Rashford, Anthony or Matrinez are good enough to be the backbone of a team who you'd expect to win the league. Varane and Bruno could if they have a good season but it's been a couple of seasons now for Bruno where he hasn't been as good as he was when he first went there.

Maybe - but as things stand, he'd be joining a team that will be in the CL, and will likely invest heavily in the summer.

Net, net, it would leave him better off - we might well not even be in the CL, and who knows what our summer investment will be like? The 'Spurs legacy' might not actually be that valuable to him. After all, he's already our all time top scorer, and I doubt many would really hold a grudge for him leaving given the state of the club

That would need an interested party that is willing to pay the price of Kane and Spurs. Probably the only decision Kane will have is United or Spurs. And I don't think its really about guarantueed success, but more who has a better strategy to challenge on all fronts rather sooner than later.

Why? Desperately need a striker, ten haag is getting a tune out of them, won a trophy this season.. Whereas we are a shambles and he's given us enough chances

He stays in the Premier league and gets Shearers record.

In my eyes if he leaves in the right way, all the best to him, legend who stuck around long enough

I'd probably take £80m for him and try Richarlison upfront

Ten Hag just won one trophy in the first season there. Might just be the league cup, but it is still one more trophy than Kane has ever won. Of course he will have more a chance to win trophies there even if there is no guarantee.

Everyone is focussing on trophies when discussing Kane's future. Coming back to Glen's departure..he didn't go to Monaco for trophies. He said he felt he needed a new challenge.

Its quite understandable that a player would want something different after so long with one club and this may be playing into Kane's calculations.

What does he have left to stay for
It depends what's most important to him. He'll never be the main man at another club like he is here. He and his family look really happy too so he may not be looking to move north now. I don't think it should be overlooked that he's the main star of a big club with essentially the keys to the stadium for the rest of his life. We have to show ambition on the pitch though.
