But who then, I really can't see who he is talking about, most seem trying and he hardly makes any changes when all are fit
Genuinely I can't see who he is talking about

Spot on, who’s he actually talking about here?

This isn’t like 2014 when we had the likes of Kaboul, Capoue, Adebayor etc.

We may have some players who aren’t good enough but I really don’t see many ‘bad apples’.

Is he talking about Son, Kane, Dier, Davies? Those are the guys who start regularly and have been around for the longest. Anyone saying Kane isn’t trying has lost it, he’s a model pro. Son clearly cares about the club. Davies and Dier are limited but you can’t say they don’t try.

The players may just be drained by the defensive and negative football we’ve been playing since mid 2019.

An 'elite' manager doesn't require every player to be purchased for him

An 'elite' manager improves players rather than just buying better ones

Yes buying players when needed is a huge part of improving squads but if a manager can't improve a player...he's not 'elite' by any means

Yet he will win plenty of silverware after he’s left us, confirming that “elite” status he has.

The “all the players I don’t like are the problem, obviously they’re lazy scum; not the ones I like though they’re good” says a lot more about the person arguing it than the players. Easy targets hung out to dry to protect the egos of dickheads.

It’s all first world nonsense … relative? Yes.
But really, we ain’t never gonna challenge given the current circumstances… but I’m ok with that …
I’m spurs. I expect suffering

Even if Kane is only playing for himself (and I’m sure he is not) what he brings to the table is more than good enough
I agree but he isn’t trying. Against Southampton there was countless times when a Southampton player was stood with 3 yards of him and he couldn’t be arsed to press.
This is on a weeks rest with no other focus this season. It’s pathetic.
If is part of the problem. Yes he scored but I thought he was very poor against Southampton

Exactly. Nathan made here really great points

These are points that a lot of us have been saying though.

The Manager sets the tone and sets the expectations and again, is supposed to inspire, lead, motivate... but if his actions do not match his expectations and there is no congruence - it is a losing battle. Lets not even mention the fact that Conte has been pretty much berating them since first stepping in - calling them average.

If we replicate in our own work places - we work to progress, if the very manager who is in charge of that is leaving in a few months - then why fucking bother eh.

And lets not suggest they should do it for the fans, we are also fickle, we want half of them out - so why would they play for us either. The badge? they dont support Spurs and majority dont love the club.

We have spent a lot of money, some of it has been misspent but we have some talent - just seen Spence play against Mbappe and well, Mbappe didnt do a lot.

Don’t think it can be any worse than being outplayed by Sheffield and Southampton tbh.

Yeah I don't think I would care to be honest, feels a little similar to the Jose situation in that the toxicity was so high that anything was better. Personally, I'm not confident going into any game right now with not only the football we're serving up, but with what seems to be a diminishing mood around the club and possibly relations between the players and manager too, which could be increasingly strained after yesterday's comments.

What a load of nonsense - do you know how much Pep has spent at City?

Pep took a Bayern team that had just won the Bundesliga, German cup and CL and turned them into a team that won the Bundesliga and the German cup.

At Barca he had prime Messi

The bloke has taken Man City to as many CL finals as we have been to.
@wadewill didn’t mention anything about money spent or qualify in detail the statement ‘done something decent with it’ - that could be interpreted as secure top 4 & win a cup whilst playing attractive football, yet you’ve gone off on a rant! 🙄

IMHO Pep is a much better coach than Conte, and most likely would have squeezed more out of this squad than the tactically inflexible Conte has.

Not sure it’s delusion to think the guy who’s won the league four out of six seasons here is better than one who hasn’t.

And if you genuinely think Arteta, Klopp and Pep have succeeded just because they’ve spent money you’ve not been paying attention.
Conte won the league and FA cup in 2 years at Chelsea on a fraction of what Pep spent.

Chelsea were tenth the season before he took over.

I would sincerely question whether you have been paying attention

He will never, ever win anything on club remotely comparable to us. Nothing, nada. Should he overtake Atletico Madrid or Roma or such club with some gap to clubs on biggest resources on corresponding leagues and with his record on cups and Europe (probably worst record on Europe on any given manager looking the clubs he has managed there) and his style he will win nothing. Absolutely nothing.

I really think this is such a key point.

Imagine 3 years of low block rigid anti possession football where creativity and attacking bravery are almost discouraged.

Add to that you know none of Jose, Nuno or Conte are going to be around for long and they’re all pretty negative characters/energy.

If I’m a player in our squad the last 3 seasons I’d be depressed as fuck.

Some of our players aren’t good enough but no way would I question many of their attitudes in fact I can point to a huge number of them who deeply care and try 110% and are model pros!!!

Hugo, Forster
Emerson, Dier, Davies, Perisic
PEH, Skipp,
Son, Kulu,
Kane

There are a lot of good guys there and in the squad overall very few bad eggs.

Conte is just trying to save face.

Someone made the point about Conte and Mourinhos style of management working short-term as it's like a shock to the system which over time wears off and I can see that

Think to your own job. If your manager is moping about , making it quite apparent how unhappy he is, everyday he makes your day as boring and hard as possible with a shitty work schedule and micro management and then to top it off is dropping hints that he is leaving soon how would you and your colleagues react? It's no way to motivate and lead a team full of people is it?

These players aren't perfect and I'd like to see some upgraded but they're still premier league internationals who have done just fine previously. If he wants consequences for people letting them down, drop em, bring a kid in if you have to prove a point. Isn't that what Poch did? But this bloke doesn't even rotate nevermind drop.

Do we need better defenders? Yes one million percent but considering the experience our people in these positions have , considering the misely defensive sleep inducing football we play there is no way on earth that some of the blame doesn't lie with him when you look at just how bad our record is. Whatever he is coaching/motivating / planning isn't working . So yeah we can say look at history but they were mostly different players, he absolutely should have done better this season.

💯 not good for it to carry on like this, but knowing levy when it would actually make sense to sack a manager a la now… he’ll end up keeping him on 😂😅🤦‍♂️

Why’d he leave then if he was so good?

Ah diddums, ENIC Dier doesn’t like being told he is turd

Just pointlessly vindictive, based on absolutely nothing.
