They let him do that video yesterday and now this. The board is such a mess!

Surely the club just sack him? How on earth can you continue in confidence like this?

I dont know the implications. Maybe they cant until a full verdict is given?

Or maybe put him on gardening leave until then?

No idea how it works.

I would have thought that under UK law, sacking him while the case is still ongoing would essentially be unfair dismissal and a potentially hefty lawsuit if he wins any appeal.

I can understand the brass not wanting to take that risk. If we are innocent until proven guilty then we can't just apply that when it suits.

How on Earth the club did not anticipate this before issuing that fucking nonsense video literally yesterday is just breathtakingly stupid.

I really fucking despise this board and the damage they are doing to this club whilst hiding in the shadows behind human shields.
Maybe because it doesn’t have hindsight ability like we all got.

Might help us with the new manager search. If they didn't want to work with him and wanted their own guy in, this opens the door for them!

I guess we wait for the appeal in April to see the full extent, if it's upheld he will be out.

If he's proved innocent, I hope we haven't already sacked him.

He's got a very good eye for talent and clearly knows how to convince them to come to the club which shouldn't be underestimated.

Sticking my neck out but if we actually get an attacking manager, be it Poch or Nagelsman, we could end up with something special.
Does he, though?

His most successful signings have been Romero, who was voted the best defender in Italy and evidently not a diamond in the rough. He panic signed Kulusevski and Bentancur after we missed out on Luis Diaz. Bissouma and Richarlison were household names in the Premier League. Udogie and Sarr are the only ones I can accredit to him but even then they were hardly unknown.

Gollini, Emerson, Gil, Lenglet, Spence (probably harsh) and Perisic were all dreadful signings.

He's not innocent and won't ever be proved as innocent.

We really should have resolved this by relieving him on his duties when this first arose but like so many other facets with this club, inaction and radio silence just leads to more issues.

Just in case any of the board browse these forums (Ed - why should they?, they're not in to football) yes this latest outbreak of muppetry does make you look like a bunch of muppets who can't even muppet good.

Emerson has come good imo, and Perisic was Contes choice want he?

Gil gets mentioned that we could do with him in the squad, so I would say not a dreadful signing, just not the right managers to use him correctly.

That’s true but it seems proper barmy hoping that they go “ah we were wrong it’s all fine”.

What a ludicrous football club.

I loved his interviews when he first came. So refreshing and almost gave me pride we finally have someone who took so much ownership in his role. But from the circus the club has been in the last 2 years, together with his own shit show, the interview last night was astonishingly WTF and trolling to say the least. Shit PR coming from the club once again.

You just can't make this up. The extended ban coming in less than one day after the video was released by the club is slapping so hard on his and the club's face.

Gil isn’t a bad player but the deal we did to sign him was utterly braindead. What has he shown for £20m plus Erik Lamela?

Yeah I hope the board read this forum too. A quick message for them:

You have shown gross negligence in terms of footballing strategy and footballing operations for years now and if you had any ounce of self awareness you'd admit your mistakes and rectify them by putting in a proper footballing CEO like Paul Barber and then creating a coherent footballing strategy which aligns with the ethos and history of our club.

It wouldn't be difficult at all for a club with our resources and would only require a modicum of intelligence, common sense and understanding of football.

If you can't do this, then do the right thing and step down.

What chances has he really had? I agree the fee was too high and I wanted lamela to stay! But he hasn't really had a chance to prove anything with us with a run in the team, same as spence.

This club is a social expirement, there is no other explanation for anything that goes on anymore at board level

Am I the only Spurs fan who finds this bloody hilarious?

Won’t miss FP if - as looks necessary - he’s removed shortly. Don’t think he’s been bad at the job but don’t think he’s been great either. I had/have serious reservations over him leading the manager search based on the fit and tactical approach of his previous appointments (but DL is probably the bigger problem in that scenario).

Dunno where we go next. Has anyone got Pleat’s number?

Who can we possibly replace him with ?
Was thinking about this the other day. Someone on here mentioned getting an ex player in. Someone who understands what Spurs are. The only one I could think of with the pull and experience would be Klinsmann.

Decisiveness please, Daniel. I hope we have a contingency plan given how long this has been on the cards.
