Glad CCV has got a place to call home now. He’s 25 this year!

Random fact - Tom Carroll has turned 30, I feel old, I was still waiting for him to fulfil his potential

From Spurs youth straight into the starting XI for a Champions League team - does that make him our most successful academy grad (excepting Kane obvi) in recent history? We’ve had Premier League players but always either bit part players or at pretty terrible teams.

Was he genuinely not good enough for us? Honest question, as I have no idea.

I still think he is a good player, just never one that fitted to our system (for most managers)

Just a bit too slow on the turn, so playing a higher line would be an issue

Let's be honest even Winks could walk in to Celtic's team. I'm happy for CCV but it says more about the league that he can become a starter for the best team in the SPL. I honestly don't think he'd get a game at many PL teams.

Especially happy for him as an American. Clearly not the right fit here though.

? he is about as American as apple pie (which isn’t American either) ??

Wish the lad luck. Shame he never made it here.

Good luck to Cameron. He's Southend born and breed and its through his father that he qualifies to play for the USA.

I should imagine with several loan fees and the fee Celtic are paying Spurs have made around £15 million off the lad.

A success story without a doubt. As our levels rise, its going to be harder and harder for homegrown players to make the team. There's a reason that Chelsea spent a good chunk of their dirty money on their loan army - they could reinvest the sales of the Abrahams/Zoumas of the world into their roster.

If we could generate 20m in academy sales every year, that's worth a solid squad player/punt on a high-upside talent every summer.

No he wasn't, sure he will have a solid career, but nowhere near good enough for a side with elite aspirations, decent enough for Celtic I am sure

Looks like Tom Carroll is a free agent now. That's unfortunate. I thought he would be playing championship level for years.
