Richarlison is Brazils 🇧🇷 number 9....

We're now set up to play to his strengths

It would be madness to not give him his shot.

We should be bringing in two top CBs, and another worldie wide player.

Now, why at least one CB hasn't been brought in already I've no idea but it doesn't put Levy and ENICs 'ambition' in a good light.

If its a youngish forward with great potential, then for me its Lucas Beltran. Not similar in style, very effective for RiverPlate in SouthAmerica.Beltran profiles like Alvarez , Lautaro kind of player. Not a out & out no9.
Matches Kane in output every way possible...ofcourse its different leagues

One of Beltran’s best attributes — the work he does out of possession — isn’t even captured in this comparison.

A review of his FBRef profile shows that, among forwards, Beltran ranks in the 99th percentile for tackles (including 99th percentile for tackles in the attacking third and 98th percentile for tackles in the middle third of the pitch) and 99th percentile for interceptions.

I think he’d suit the Ange No. 9 role down to a T and would be a perfectly sensible third choice option behind Richy and Son.

Two CBs, Beltran, and a top LW and we’d have a very strong squad IMO.

Surely no one can be upset with using the Kane money to sort out the weakest position in our team.

This is exactly what we should be doing.

Everyone (deep down) knew when we signed Richarlison it was to replace Kane this long term. He was never signing a new deal. It's time. He will be good in the new system, he works so hard.

I'm not concerned about our attacking options they are as good as anyone's (except City) Kane or no Kane.

Kane has already been replaced, he's been so good we have had to sign two players to do it. Maddison for the assists and Richarlison for the goals. I'm confident between the 2 of them they will cover him.

He sounds like a clever move, €25m release clause so it would just be down to convincing the player… I hadn’t realized we have already been linked to him this window, albeit not super strongly, in Argentina media.

We've replaced the second most deadliest striker in premier League history with an at best 1 in 3 player. Not as confident and honestly massively deflated by the thought of it. If we were playing without the offside rule we might be ok but he doesn't seem to understand the concept.

I don't see how you can say surely no one can be upset. I mean we're talking a player who was our main goalscorer and playmaker and he's being replaced by nobody to be clear, Richarlison was in the team last year. So Yes Richarlison may well get a bigger role and he may well perform better in the new set up as might Son but to say a player who was already here is the replacement, I mean my word how low is our bar? What's basically being said with that is that the club does not believe in strength in depth? The level of importance on the bench in this day and age is huge with the amount of subs. I mean in 1999 United had Yorke, Cole, Sheringham, Solskjaer but in 2023 Spurs fans should be resigned to strength in depth being nothing more than a replacement in waiting, a replacement that has shown little but I will give credit and say his Brazil performances do give a glimmer of hope but to say surely no one can be upset.

Then on top of that, you say what exactly we should be doing is, using the Kane money to sort our weakest position, what about sorting it out by investing in the club without selling your best player. What about if he is hell bent on leaving, investing in the club and then using the Kane money to provide the manager with something up top to bolster his options.

If you can't understand how people may be upset then your standards are low and I think you, I and everybody else deserve better.

I really do hope that the players want to prove that they were not side attractions, I really hope that no europe gives us the best chance, that Richarlison turns into Brazilian Ronaldo and Ange overcomes all the odds but let's be clear that how the club operates is one of the odds and they'll be succeeding despite them, not due to them.

To be fair, the rule has changed

No one is upset about that. What most are saying is that it is a position that should have been sorted without needing to sell Kane.

The problem is until the ownership changes we need to be realistic with what we are going to do and how we are going to operate.

This is the reason Kane is leaving. I don't blame him, we lack ambition to succeed on the football pitch.

When I say everyone should be happy I mean within what we are actually going to do.

Of course I would like us to keep Kane and sign quality centre backs and really push and compete but it's never happening.

So within the current modus operandi this is as good as its going to get.

Sell Kane, give Richy a go, hope we sign a young player that turns out class and go from there.

If we did go for a young striker, De Ketelaere might be worth a punt as it looks like Milan want rid. Could be worth a punt for reasonable money and a bit less pressure for him playing understudy to Richarlison/Maddison than to start at Milan which was clearly too much, too soon.
This I could get on board with.

Richarlison will relish being our main man and proving the doubters wrong, love his attitude, bring it on 😎🇧🇷
I’ve got to be one of the few that thinks our offense won’t suffer under Ange without Kane. Richarlison and Son would be fine 9s and his offense will get goals out of others. Richarlison pressing will help us more than losing Kane goals will hurt us.

We need CBs.

Even if Richarlison is the long term successor to Kane we still need another forward. We spent years going on about needing a forward to allow Kane to rest or if Kane got injured. We finally got a good one in Richarlison and now we're talking about him replacing Kane full stop. So now we still need another forward but this time to compete with Richarlison because nobody competes with Kane here so it's a bit different. Even if Son gets that role and competes with Richarlison we then need a 20 goal wide forward to replace Sons output from there.

I do think it's unfair to label anyone a replacement though and you know they will do that every game that's broadcast too. We should just focus on how the team functions as a collective and forget comparisons with Kane when he leaves. Same if we spend big on a forward they shouldn't take the pressure of the Kane replacement label. We didn't exactly have a Bale replacement at the time because like Kane there wasn't really anyone like him. We still had influential players like Eriksen come out of it all and an overall young team that was shaped by an exciting manager soon after.

We really need to invest in a young forward whether this is a striker or winger. Kane looks to be going a Son isn’t getting any younger.
