The time he said “I hear people say stuff about Tottenham and I don’t like it.” The time he climbed into the stands to stand up for his brother. The time he ruined West Ham fans’ weekend by scoring on his debut. The time he shitwhipped half the Chelsea team in their own backyard. The many times him and Dele made me laugh with their absurd banter.

Maybe he is a good player requiring better coaching, maybe he‘s lost a little something over the years, maybe he’s simply not the right fit for Ange. I don’t know. But I do know there are many reasons why I love Eric Dier. And it’s not just because he loves me.

Absolutely love this post. Being a Dier truther has had its fair share of ups and downs, but he’s just been one of those guys we’ve had where there are so many things other than drops of form, that have always made me love him. I just wish he could be one of our rocks in the team skills wise, because everything else outside of that has always been exactly what I want in a player and a leader. If he was an auto choice CB, he’d be the auto choice skipper for me

Is it wrong that I really want Eric Dier to go on Facebook now and post a black and white picture of the face of a wolf, next to it is some sort of dramatic quote about “returning leading the pack”.

Someone “You ok hun?”’s him and Eric just replies “I’ll inbox you”.

…we notice in the meantime he’s unfriended Sonny and Ange…

Eric Dier has been nothing but loyal to this club even when some fans turned on him and a certain fan abused his brother at a game.

Wish more players had that loyalty.

He’s a good person, but if he hasn’t got the self-awareness to be realise his form has been awful for a long-time and he needs to turn that around before thinking about being captain, then maybe he needs to move on.

Deleting account. Sorry for asking valid questions. Everybody happy now? Enjoy your Saturday night.
You've been a great poster in here and your contribution will be missed if you do leave. Every player has a bad game, every poster isn't on 100% of the time. It's not the disagreement but the doubling and tripling down when people disagree with you. Just accept it and move on.

The players all found out yesterday. Everybody else found out today. This is BS. Sorry.
This is BS. The players found out today, as there is literally video of Ange telling Sonny, and talking about the Brentford game being tomorrow.

He’s not been awful for a long time though. He was great during Conte’s first season then played through injury for the majority of last season. His form dropped off a cliff but he certainly wasn’t alone in that.

He’s unsuited to our new system though and now is the time to move him on.

I mean the club have done well by him too, lucrative contracts, haven't pushed him out the door, not sure where else he would be at a top 6 club

I read the same hours ago and it absolutely is fake news. That doesn't change the fact that he deleted Spurs off his socials for a reason.

What that reason is who knows? It's yet to be determined. But the people calling him out for it aren't the toxic ones. The ones defending that behavior are toxic. Dier is toxic.

Come on, seriously? You're talking about one of our longest serving players like that?

I don't know why but that comment has genuinely depressed me. It might seem like a fairly innocent phrase but it's actually a really awful thing to say and think.

He's a nice guy, he's intelligent, a great ambassador for the club. He's a solid player, and has been picked repeatedly by manager after manager. He has several England caps. He's never come out in the press and complained, and he's defended the club in public on numerous occasions.

Yeah, he's coming off the back of a poor season, and he doesn't fit Ange's style, and he'll probably be rightly sold.

But calling him toxic? What a genuinely horrible way to feel about our player, a horrible thing to say. Sorry but that's honestly really got to me reading that.

People forget how good he was at the beginning of last season and fully deserved his England re-call.
At that point, he was probably the in form English CB.

But yes, he isn't going to suit a high paced, high line style and needs to move on for his own career.

Didn’t he speak to Jose(whilst at united) to get a move?

You mean when Jose made contact with him? Invited him up there as I remember.

I absolutely couldn't care less, though. Transfers are part of football and he went nowhere.

Endless vile comments on his page. Why are the vast majority of football fans such mindless ****s?
If you consult social identity theory it's quite telling. It's a tribal sport that attracts people who seek a sense of belonging and consider their affiliation with the team as an extensiion of their own identity. In a positive sense this breeds a increase in social self-esteem, sense of belonging and pride. It also breeds spikes in self-esteem and positive emotions after e.g. a win. In a negative sense it also increases negative emotions, humiliation, resentment and anger following e.g. a loss.

Some react to this within acceptable social norms. Others who act agressively at games or in online communities often display narcissistic traits, low self-esteem and react with agression to any percieved slight to an already fragile self-concept.

So in a sense we are all mindless ****s with low self-esteem, seeking beloning. Some of just don't need to be pricks to surive the ordeal.
