They do this a bit at the start of every season. Every club is guaranteed a minimum amount of TV picks in a season so Sky and BT/TNT cynically pick a few fixtures like this to "get rid of" those sides picks early on. This means that when we get to the run in the broadcasters have more freedom to select basically whichever game they want.

I agree with your point, but considering he was still in Germany late last night, it's not that odd. I'm sure the player and management in Fulham is on the same page on this occasion.

We've got to the point now where there's no other explanation for some of these decisions.
There's no possible way anyone can look at that and say Akanji is onside. It is beyond a competence issue. So it's corruption.
Doesn't necessarily mean a bribe or money, but they're 100% wilfully and intentionally making decisions they know to be wrong.
