Missed the game - can anyone tell me if Moore actually played the whole match in this Maddison role?

And any impressions on how it suited him?

Wonderful talent but still not sure what position he'll end up.

Seems most likely he'll end up as a 10, but I've yet to see him boss a game as playmaker for 90 minutes.

Rather that he comes alive in moments in the final 3rd.

I've seen more of him at U21 level, where he tended to go missing.

In fairness he was a 15 year old playing with 19-21 year olds.

He'd still have spectacular moments in the final third.

I'm just curious how he's getting on in a role where the play goes through him all game.

How proud you must be. Best of luck to your son!
It’s at the point now where it’s just continued hard work, it could all be gone in a flash for him!

It’s why I have huge respect for any kid playing that level, I see the hard work that goes on every day

Be a good test this evening for the u21's at Colchester , will see how the likes of Santiago etc do against seasoned professionals.
PL u21 teams usually struggle against league one & two opposition, will have to see if the Ange style improves our results in this competition.

PS Expect Phillips to play , will we get to see Veliz.

In last seasons group stage of EFL Trophy we failed to score a single goal , just scoring a goal will be a result.

PS so far we have 5 , that's a great result.

Hoping Veliz gets some minutes.
I’d prefer we used JSB and/or Lankshear here. They’ve been phenomenal for the U21s all season and this is a rare opportunity for them to directly prove that they are ready for men’s football at the academy level.

Had a quick look through the EFL Trophy regulations , in theory I believe we could play Udogie as an under 21 and possibly Sarr but that would defeat the purpose of this competition of giving the regular U21 players good opposition to play.
There is a cup & Wembley appearance available in this competition but as far as I can see PL u21 teams usually find the league 1 & 2 far too strong. e.g last season Cheltenham hammered Chelsea u21s 4-0
