We made it easy for Liverpool by staying very narrow and they packed the middle of the pitch. Chelsea stretched us wide and used the flanks. Chelsea had a much better plan than we did v LFC.
So Poch employed better tactics when playing against 9 men last night than Ange did in the same situation against Liverpool - interesting!

I’m still trying to work out how Mudryk stayed on the pitch. He did three fouls with no yellow before he finally got booked for that challenge on vicario.

You just don’t see other countries fucking up VAR as badly as we do in England
Unfortunately when broadcaster pay as much as they do for the rights..... there will always be the need for them to create as much drama and controversy as they can... Just another part of the soul being ripped out of football.

I thought Neville was so OTT in how he tried to drum up drama. He couldn’t wait for a sending off.
Not that I watched alot of other matches in other languages I can understand, but it seems to me only his commentary can be so biased and skewed which I honestly really don't think it fits what a commentator should possessed in terms of impartiality.

I totally agree. He is absolutely horrendous for it. I had to tell my husband to turn it down last night as I can’t stick him. It feeds into peoples heads and that’s where half the drivel you read on social media comes from. Shocking commentary.

Commentary has lost what it was meant to be. You now rarely hear them actually commentate on the game eg “Maddison receives it on the left, past one, plays it infield to Bissouma, holds off X and plays it…..”

it’s mostly chatting now, sometimes even about teams/players that aren’t sodding playing!

Yes, I think he did.
I think you’ll find how we played against Liverpool was different because Liverpool had a low block 9 behind the ball and no attacking intent at all.
We tried to get something from the game
And had various chances to score but the problem with that is leaving so Much space. The only thing last night I think ange got wrong was leaving destiny on.
I think with the way the game was and how wired destiny seemed he should have taken him off.

Last night was 20% commentator, 80% Neville opinion.
The commentator is actually quite a good listen, shame Sky let Neville run riot.

There was 24 seconds between Kulu getting in behind the Chelsea backline after a give and go with Hojbjerg and Udogie's second yellow card.

This is the risk versus reward of Ange's style of football. We created that opportunity at 10 vs 11 and if Kulu was confident on his weaker foot he puts that ball across towards Son. Instead he checked back on his left and was crowded out leading to this Chelsea breakaway.

It's mind blowing how we went from full control looking like scoring a second to panic mode for 10 minutes before selv destruction with Romero.

Still kind of shocked we did ourself like that.

It wasn’t us that gave Chelsea the win, they had 3 of the best players in the prem this week. Sometimes you just get beat by quality

Sky telling us it was one of the best games of the season . Really …11 v 9 is not a great game. Exciting yes because of how we played.
Do we really have to put up with Sturridge as a pundit. Plank. Said it was end to end. Bollocks.
at least Neto is injured for Saturday .

What was stopping Jackson just standing 25 yards from goal and waiting for a teammate yo break the offside trap, run past him and cut the ball back?

That's not offside is it?
That’s sort of what he did for his first. He was well ahead of Sterling when the ball was played, consequently he was ahead of our defence when the ball came across. Dier couldn’t get to him, no doubt VDV would have got him

21 minutes of stoppage time is ridiculous and just emphasises the forensic obsession we now have with VAR, There is no point having a referee as every incident is relayed back to VAR. People forget football is a contact sport, but players will be hesitant to make tackles soon. Yesterdays first half had the ball in play for 23 minutes, but played out 57 mins.. It's going to destroy football.
They need to pull back on some od the things they use it for.

I would limit it to penalty incidents only.

Most of the time the red cards can be subjective anyway, so trust the ref with that one.

Offsides need work. Either scrap it or get rid of the lines and go back naked eye which would help them make a quick decision.

But that sequence yesterday was a farce. I was tending to my baby at that moment and I had no idea what was going on. I was totally lost as to what they were doing.

This is the problem. You have someone sat in VAR saying "There may be a foul there, and check offside too"

As Ange says, they are forensically scrutinising every detail. Of course you are going to get coming togethers because it is a contact sport and there are some VAR checks that are quite clear from first glance yet they spend a good 50 seconds on them.

was it bollocks.

The game was totally ruined and it wasnt about football after 30 mins or so.

It became chaos
