I like him, he always seems comfortable on the ball and looking to make something happen. He’s obviously not in contention as a starter, but I think there’s something to be said for throwing on a young direct forward late in the game to mix things up. Come Afcon and the Asian Cup, unless we do some business early in the window or get back some of our wounded, Ange is going to have to put some more youngsters on the bench (or fill it with keepers!)What about Soonsup-Bell, could he be a viable backup for Johnson at RWF if Deki stays more central?
I'm guessing that is Elijah Upson? If so then I'm pretty sure he's the son of former Gooner & Spanner Matthew Upson.
That would explain why Upson was at the training ground when I was there a few years back.I'm guessing that is Elijah Upson? If so then I'm pretty sure he's the son of former Gooner & Spanner Matthew Upson.
In fairness, I thought it would be a great loan when they announced it.....just don't know how these lower league clubs seasons are going to turn out. What a complete waste of time that loan has been. The club needs to do much better when finding loans for our youngsters.
Hopefully he will have taken something from it at a personal level, but, yes with our injuries he would probably have had almost as many minutes if he had stayed at Spurs. But you can’t predict these things in advance. What a complete waste of time that loan has been. The club needs to do much better when finding loans for our youngsters.
Been around for years, used to him him way back when my lad first started playingThat would explain why Upson was at the training ground when I was there a few years back.
They should have done their homework, but from the little I heard is he is not really impressing as they hoped.I'm not sure anyone saw Ipswich as a top of the table challenger.
It's hard to give minutes to someone who isn't club owned when the club are challenging and the club owned players are the reason they are doing so.
Do we have any good dms in our youth ranks?
Matthew Craig is a DM but his window of opportunity has probably gone. George Abbott is comfortable in DM but I don't think he's anywhere near ready. We don't really have anyone I can think of who looks like being mid-term option in there. Playing that Bissouma role requires a crazy skillset. You've basically got to be able to do it all, and pretty convincingly.Do we have any good dms in our youth ranks?
BLF, but part of the reason he looks so outstanding at that level is that he is actually 37.Do we have any good dms in our youth ranks?

If we are saying that Abbott is nowhere near ready and Craig has missed his window of opportunity that window must be quite narrow, as there’s only two years between them. Worth recalling that Mason made his Premier League debut at 23 after endless injuries and mostly unsuccessful loans.Matthew Craig is a DM but his window of opportunity has probably gone.
