Bayern Munich have withdrawn their offer of a new contract for Germany full-back Philipp Lahm.
The 24-year-old had been unable to agree an extension to his current deal with the Bundesliga leaders which expires in June 2009.
A statement on Bayern's official website, www.fcbayern.de, read: "The talks between Bayern and Philipp Lahm about an early extension to his contract have not led to a agreement.
"The record champions therefore on Tuesday withdrew their original offer."
Bayern may now look to sell the sought-after defender in the summer to avoid losing him on a free transfer at the end of next season.
Would love him at the lane next season, sort of player we have to go for in the summer.
