Berbs: Suppose He Stays ?

With ManU's interest allegedly cooling (a bargaining ploy/red-top invention ?) Maybe the moody Bulgar's destined to stay at the Lane ?

But what's best I wonder - a stroppy Dimitar feeling like an old lag who'd had his parole turned down ? Or is he pro enough to shrug it off and put it out of his mind ? And will we have to sit thru another bout of is he leaving/staying in Jan ?

And if he stays - who'd be the best striking partner for him to buy with the Robbie Keane money ?

David Villa!

him and Berbs would be the best partnership in the world IMO, we can dream.

If it is true that he's available for 31.5m and wants to come, then sell keane for 18m and buy him for the extra 13.5m.

I'm not sure why Fergi ever really wanted Berba. He has a horrible attitude and in my opinion is the wrong type of striker for them. I would have thought they want a fox in the box. Tevez and Rooney already sit quite deep, why sign another striker that does the same.

If he stays I suppose he should be treated like any other player and played on his merits. I just hope we sell him

i agree his attitude can seem bad.. but he has been such an amazing player over the past two seasons..no sale would always be better!

I think Ferguson definitely wants Berbatov. I can't think of a club in the country that he wouldn't improve. Yes, he plays deep, but he's also fairly tall, good in the air and can play as an out-and-out striker. He's a different kind of player to either Rooney or Tevez.

Over the summer there have been a number of players who have been linked with other clubs (Ronaldo to Real Madrid, Adebayor to Milan, Barry to Liverpool, Berbatov to Man Utd) and in all the cases, the selling clubs have basically priced the players out of a move. They haven't always said "there's no way you're leaving" but they have made it clear that they will only let the player go if an acceptable bid is made. Personally, I think this is a good thing. And if Berbatov understands that the likes of Man Utd aren't willing to stump up the cash for him (which seems odd, given that they appear willing to spend £32m on Tevez, who isn't quite a good as Berbatov) then maybe his attitude will improve.

I'm hoping that unlike last season, we start the campaign with a settled squad, and with a manager who is backed by both the chairman and the DoF. If we start well and look like a force to be reckoned with, I see no reason why Berbatov would sulk too much or destroy morale.

If the pieces about Ronaldo staying and Tevez signing for that sort of fee are true, I doubt that Manure will higher up their bid to meet with Levy's valuation of Berbatov.

I just don't get when ppl keep saying he has an attitude problem. It's his style of play that makes him look uninterested. He isn't the kind who chases every ball, but he does do his bit in defending from the front and corners. If he signs for Manure, they will no doubt vastly improve.

I don't think he'll kick up a fuss and be a disruptive force if he stays, I do think he's going to struggle an awful lot if Keane goes though. Losing out on a move you wanted is one thing, couple it with losing your strike partner without an adequate replacement coming in (??) could be too much for Berba to handle in terms of producing for the club this coming season. Hope I'm forced to eat my words though!

I have no doubts (I think....or maybe I don't....or perhaps I do, after all!) that Berbs will shine if he stays with us...and with a Villa-like partner he may be heading to a new level....with both goals and assists 'go leor!'. GO Whites (lol) COYS!

Berb can play deep or as the point... do people forget the 2 occasions berb played up on his own after us going down to 10 men against Citeh and Bolton. Truely awesome performances.

Utd were great on the break but they struggled hlding the ball up front. Berb would do that, thats why they want him.

23 goals and 23 assists last season from berb... pretty shit hot return from a player that didn't want to play for us. If he gets his move and is happy at utd it's frightening to think what he might be capapble of.

If he stays we could play him up front on his own with GDS, Modric & whoever else we sign joining in the attack from midfield.

Let him rot in the reserves. Prefer to sell him to Fulham though

If Berbs went to ManYoo, I think you would see the best forward player since Vas Basten. Maybe at Spurs he feels that he is going stale?

No matter what you think of SAF, he would get the best out of Berbs, because if Berbs didn't pull his weight, then SAF would just bench him - I cannot see thins happening at Spurs.

He sees Cantona in him, mean & moody and let's be honest Rooney's value has depreciated over the past few years and maybe feels he could resurrect him?

We should still bring in another striker and pronto, it's only a few weeks to go and we're still here wondering what's gonna happen...sort it out guys!!!

If he stays great, if he throws the toys out the pram because we didn't sell him then stick him in the reserves. It depends on what we've promised him up to now. I'd possibly say to him we'll sell him, but not to an English club, next summer, if he helps us get into the CL. If he agrees, we should announce it publicly to stop speculation about a January move.

I hate to think what his mood is going to be like when he finds out Keane has gone and he has to stay. The look on his face would be something to behold. Still think he will end up with Manure though.

To be honest I'm amazed anyone is considering he might stay. The guy wants out and if it isn't to Utd then it'll be to be to another top European outfit. Sadly, August 16th will not see Berbatov up at the Riverside.
