Long time no update, so here goes!
Callum’s approaching the end of his apprenticeship. He applied for a permanent position and was offered a job last week!
I feel like this is probably the last of my updates.
His journey is not over, but where he is means that his new normal is ordinary - and...
No need to apologise. Life goes on.
Even though 4 years have gone by, still feel
an affinity to this group because of the support and words of encouragement given.
And also being a proud mum I want to boast about his achievements!!
Hi!
Been a while since I've updated you all on Callum's progress, and as it will soon be 4 years since his accident I thought I'd bring you up to speed.
He's completed a year at college, he's found it challenging at times, but has passed his first year!
However, now that he's 18(!!), he's...
Just thought I'd give a Callum update as I often think of all the support we received from this forum.
Callum received his GCSE results last week. The number taken was reduced due to his brain injury, but I'm very proud to say he got :
Maths - A
Science - B
RE - C
ICT - C
English - E (retaking...
Oops!
Working through cognitive and memory issue. But considering his initial prognosis, he's a miracle.
Doing 5 GCSE's in June. Hoping to study science at college next year!!!
NHS brilliant!
Family and friends amazing!
This forum - unbelievable! Thank you so much!
Wow! Thanks for the continued interest.
Callum is doing really well. Physically he's pretty much fixed. Playing football and competing for a disabled football team and loving it. Scoring goals!! And player of the month last month!
Vision problems are life long. Working through
Thanks for all your advice. You may be able to tell I like to have a plan - and now I have one!
Gonna travel via Enfield. It'll be nice as that's where my family is originally from.
Thanks again x x
He is fully mobile!
And is now training with a local football team for high funtioning disabled kids - for 5 hours a week!
He will manage the walk. Though it would have been nice to stop somewhere for something to eat and drink before the match.
Rethinking that plan now.
We are getting a train to Finsbury Park. And then the tube to seven sisters.
Plan to get to the area early so that we can have something to eat and visit the club shop. Make the most of the day!
Any recommendations near either station would be appreciated.
