Lol whatever you need to convince yourself the north is a better place to live than Florida. ;)

One of my all time favorite Bale reels, due in no small part to what is a great song/band.

Oh undoubtedly, which is why they surely have to announce Bale first. Seems to me to have been the MO as well, as they've generally announced the bigger name first, and then spaced it out with the subsequent signing.

It was Bale's 2012/13 season which returned my faith in sports stars as ethereal Supermen. I had written it off as childhood naivete just a few years prior, but Bale singlehandedly changed my perspective. To see him in a Spurs shirt again is the stuff of dreams.

I would imagine the social media team have considered a way to space this out such that Reguilon's announcement is not entirely obscured by the Bale return hype. They simply have to, otherwise it'd be quite unfair to the player. Hell, his agent has likely even demanded it.

It's just another loop on the surreal coaster ride of the last 18 months or so. Spurs in a CL final, Poch gone six months later, Mourinho wearing the chicken badge, empty stadiums, and now the return of the prodigal son. Amazon must be begging Levy for a second season.

Thanks for this, as I actually thoroughly enjoyed that as a bit of a both aviation and history dork. So as to not get A&C'd, I am of the opinion that Bale is a fine footballer.

Agree with all of this, but I hope the fans are patient with him. It's going to take him a few weeks to get back to fitness, let alone match quality confidence. Not sure yet if it's a good thing the fans aren't in the stadiums atm, because I don't know how that would affect the pressure on him...

    Danny Ings

My God, stunned to realize he's only 28. Honestly, not a bad shout for an option, although I don't see him fancying the opportunity too much if he even remotely fancies himself any chance of getting into the Euros squad. If he's reasonable and views it as highly unlikely though, maybe he'll...

Same reasons they're also wearing boots: they're told to and the photographers/marketing folks want them to convey a matchday look.

Fwiw, they kinda have to declare those based on international allegiances. Aurier spent most of his childhood in France, but is always referred to as "the Ivorian" by game commentators. I get what you're saying and I think it fair, but even so, the commentators are simply towing the line by my...

    Player Watch: Erik Lamela

This is the logic used by managers of the ilk of Steve Bruce, Sam Allardyce, and Mark Hughes. You must be very confused when you see Sancho being mooted for prices well over 100 euros, and Peter Crouch goes for free to Burnley.

    Player Watch: Erik Lamela

Absolutely perfect summary, and I suspect that this reasoning is exactly how the decision makers at the club are thinking. Lamela out (and ideally back to Roma) and Eze in sounds like ideal business, with all parties happy.

Rather like the green one tbh, always have liked forest green. The home though... absolutely blows the mind people who are paid handsomely to do this come out with those sleeves, and then some equivalent to an editor that gets paid even more is like "yeah that's the one." Like... they're paid...
