I won't say too much, we did lose to Brentford earlier this season, but they don't strike me as a smaller club on the up. Wolves, Bournemouth, and Brighton seem much better locations to land if you're looking for a PL. move with the chance to play/improve.
Not to pass judgment on any club, but...
Not much time left now. Werner and Dragusin. A couple good loans out. PEH set to stay, Nusa to Brentford, and no other reinforcements.
I expect nothing in January, so I think we've done good business. If Son, Bissouma, and Sarr weren't off in Cups, I think I'd feel even better.
I think we're pretty tactical with our social media at this point. Bentancur was almost entirely absent when injured and then showed up in the matchday squad. Maybe Maddison has been back in training for a while and is ready to play.
Thanks for keeping the thread updated. 100% agree. On June 14 everyone here was on board for the Ange rebuild. We dominate United and now on Sep 1 there is skepticism around bringing in a solid young group.
We've been very active IMO. Maddison, van de Ven, Vicario, Veliz, Philips, Solomon...
I thought the ITK was lining up to be CB (Tosin/Lloyd) and a FW (Johnson). Surprised that it's gone quiet there, but it could also indicate Sanchez and Dier aren't moving.
The Spurs transfer window in a nutshell. Start with dreams of signing world class players (Laporte, Vlhahovic, Chiesa), downgrade expectations to solid reinforcements (Tapsoba, Kudus, Amrabat), pray for opportunistic signings (Tosin, Gallagher, Johnson), resign yourself to a quiet deadline day.
They don't play the same position, and I don't think Johnson is a nailed on starter. He needs to challenge Kulu for minutes. But I don't think he's going to come to a top 6 club and immediately demand to be a starter.
Fati will expect to start, and I would hope that he would allow Son to...
Getting close to the 48 hour mark and I'm starting to get the feeling that we've left all these deals too late. Surely Levy knows that this window is different and ending with Frazier Campbell isn't good enough after we watched one of the all time greats leave for over 100m.
I know that a Top 6 club doesn't normally allow a new manager the luxury of time, but let's be realistic here. It's week 3 of the Ange overhaul. Yeah we're playing better and we've got some nice results, but we're a work in progress. Kane is gone, we're now one of the youngest teams in the...
Brennan Johnson for Cash + Sanchez just doesn't make sense to me. Sanchez is really our 3rd CB, and he's certainly serviceable when paired with a competent CB not named Eric Dier.
Three days before Kane's transfer was final. Ange clearly received the message from Levy.
"We've been planning for this, it's fair to say, for a while. It doesn't take too much investigative work to realise that this was going to happen. So we've planning for it to sort of happen anyway, our...
