    Player Matthijs de Ligt

No Spurs fan should be happy with losing Toby. We might be making the best of a bad situation by signing De Ligt, but our defence will still be weaker over the next 2-3 years than it would be if we kept Toby.

    Player Watch: Kieran Trippier

£30m is pennies for a key player in today's market. A replacement of similar ability would cost more. We only got Aurier for £23m because he was a bench player pushing for a move, had rejected a new contract, has been convicted for assualt and generally has an iffy attitude, and PSG had to...

    Player Jack Grealish

Do you realise that Dembele had the best dribbling stats in Europe not so long ago? Grealish, on the other hand, has shown he's above average at beating Championship players. I'm not saying Grealish would be a bad signing, but he's currently not even close to Dembele's ability (and isn't suited...

    Player Player watch: Toby Alderweireld

Even a slightly out of form Alderweireld is better than 90% of our rivals (PL & CL) starting CBs, and he could easily have another 5 years left at the top level.

    Player Player watch: Christian Eriksen

His recent goal/assist record for Denmark is ridiculous. Now that he's continued it onto the 'world stage', his value must be through the roof...not that we'll be cashing in on him.

Good job I don't have a breadbin then!

Buying players from the World Cup

Was that last season in one of the top 5 leagues?

    Player Anthony Martial

Hopefully because we're signing Bale so don't need either of them.

Buying players from the World Cup

Cheryshev has scored 2 goals per game so far this world cup. That's a better scoring rate than any player in the top 5 leagues last season. Sign him up! :ROFLMAO:

Could it also be that Alderweireld is staying? (or Rose)

    Player Player Watch: Mousa Dembele

For circa £20m I'm not sure why we would be willing to sell. A younger player of comparable ability would command an exponentially higher fee and it wouldn't be like us to sign an older CM of proven quality. That means we'd be likely to either downgrade or make a massive net loss.

    Mauricio Pochettino

Considering Vorm and Trippier were signed as back-ups, for only £7m combined, and are better than some of our rivals have for the same role, how are they not successes?

Player Xherdan Shaqiri SIGNED FOR LIVERPOOL

For £12m he wouldn't be a bad back-up for Eriksen. We wouldn't sign him if Poch wasn't confident he could get satisfactory fitness and workrate out of him...if Poch isn't confident of that we'll be looking elsewhere.
  14. Neon_Knight_

    Player Wilfried Zaha

Mahrez scores 1 in 3 / 1 in 4. Zaha scores 1 in 8. Yes, Zaha had a 1 in 3 ratio last season, but look what happened last time we signed someone based on a strong end to the season (Sissoko). EDIT: I have no objections to us signing Zaha, but I think we could get better value for money...

    Player Ryan Sessegnon

Although I think Sessegnon could prove to be a great signing long-term, I can't see it happening unless one of Rose or Davies leaves, and in the short-term that would be a downgrade (if Rose stays he will pick up form, as Poch won't keep him if he's still unsettled). Defensively, Sessegnon is...
