Depends on the size of the breach, and whether there are any mitigating / aggravating factors.

    Financial Fair Play (general thread)

May 24th is the very latest date it can be concluded, and the hope is that it will be settled well before that. Initial verdicts are due no later than April 8th. Clubs then have 2 weeks after that to appeal, followed by a further week for the PL to respond to any appeals, then another week...

No, the end of the current monitoring period is 30th June 2024. The cut-off for reporting of the results for this period to the PL will be December 31st, and charges will be brought based on whether clubs met PSR. Any changes to the rules will only apply from the 2024/25 monitoring period onwards.

It's not just the wage bill that counts, you have to add on player amortisation as well (£93m for Villa).

This isn't a loosening of the financial constraints, just a different way of measuring it. They're only changing it to more closely align with UEFA's FFP rules, and will actually give many clubs less leeway than they have under PSR. Taking Chelsea as an example: although they managed to get...

Great match. Neither team deserved to lose it, but England probably just shaded it.

Sounds like they might not have a choice. Howe certainly gave the impression previously that he wasn't keen on keeping him, but it seems the loan deal included a conditional obligation to buy that is close to being triggered.

They might get lucky and scrape under the threshold this year, but they'll be back in the same position again next time around. Their wage bill and amortisation aren't going to come down for a long time - and as long as they keep failing to qualify for the Champions League, their revenues...

Match Threads Aston Villa vs Spurs

Romero, Van de Ven, Bissouma, Sarr, Maddison & Richarlison all missed that game - and we lost Bentancur after half an hour when Matty Cash assaulted him. Multiple players played out of position, plus the only senior players on the bench that day were Forster, Dier, Skipp & Hojbjerg. We'd gone...

    Financial Fair Play (general thread)

Their squad cost ratio is about 150% at the moment. Even with extra CL revenue, they're going to have a hard time getting that under 80% to meet UEFA's FFP requirements for next season.

    FA Cup 2023/24

Potential for quite a fixture pile-up towards the end of the season, depending how results go tonight and in the quarters. If Chelsea win tonight, then their trip to the Emirates on March 16th will need to move. City's trip to Brighton that weekend is already postponed. Potential for both...

They're absolutely fine as far as PSR is concerned, it's UEFA's FFP that is a concern for them. The new 'squad cost ratio' rules limits the proportion of revenue that can be spent on transfers, playing staff & coaching staff wages, and agent fees. It's being phased in over a 3 year period -...

    Premier League 2023/2024

The timescales are all set out in the PL rules for this season. I'm not sure if the Everton appeal against the 1st breach has shifted this, but the timetable should be: April 8th: initial decisions issued for 2023 breaches (84 days after charge date). April 15th: cut-off for clubs to appeal...
