Brilliant that we’ve got a situation where referees ignore fouls because VAR can overturn them, and VAR ignores fouls because the referee chose to allow them.
That’s a silly hypothetical because we have everyone fit and in form about once every four years.
Even the start of the season when we were good we had no Bentancur, and Richarlison horribly out of form.
That’s a bit misleading because they rotated from the start. They had Batshuayi up front where we had Kane. We also had Walker on the bench - and could’ve had Son as an impact sub if we hadn’t randomly used him as a wingback.
IIRC we had something like this with Swindon 2010-2014ish, though that might have just been Sherwood’a contacts as it stopped pretty much immediately when he left.
And going back another decade, I think ENIC owned some foreign clubs too, don’t remember us doing much business with them though.
Foden had thirty-five senior appearance for City before he turned nineteen, ten of which were starts. I don’t think Donley had has thirty-five whole minutes of senior football yet, having just turned nineteen. So Foden isn’t really a fair comparison.
We need someone whose job it is to tell the manager no when he tries this. Awful, awful move for a player’s development to keep them around without giving them proper playing time.
If Dier does go to Bayern, it’s hard not to imagine Kane being a major factor. Do Bayern need to keep him happy? Why?
And did Kane advocate for Dier to start when he was here?
I’m convinced this was the reason for Van de Ven’s injury, given the massive delay before Romero’s red card. Maybe Maddison’s too?
Not sure about any of the others though.
That’s right, our first signing in 2014/15, jointly with Vorm. Will almost certainly hit ten years this summer, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him retire here.
A superb professional and now our longest-serving player.*
*Longest-serving by date he joined the club. Dier made his competitive debut a few days earlier. Also excluding academy players, such as Skipp who's been here since 2008.
Think Lo Celso was shouting at him from the touchline saying that. Players on the pitch maybe too caught up in the match to notice as it was getting intense?
