I will watch Test cricket until the end of time. But these pitches have really tested me. A lot more than they have tested the batters so far it would seem.

Half centuries for the top 3 and 45* for Lawrence at 4 in the first day of the warm up. No idea of the standard of the opposition but interesting all the same that they picked Lawrence at 4 and there was no space (in the 12) for Pope.

I may regret asking this, but why on earth do you care? You are not using the right metrics to calculate the answer you want, and without that, if it were me...I would just stop doing it?
A batter’s average has been done the same way for 300 years. I’ll be honest, I just know how it works, and get on with it.
I don’t really know what else to say. Apart from, don’t worry about average in T20 cricket, strike rate is a metric that pro’s use as a marker. Above 130 is what they are...
