Confirms what I feared. The problem is that sport is mostly about belief. Players won't sign because they don't believe they can win anything here. If they don't believe they can win...they won't!

I agree but I think we lost the match because of Pochetinos negative late subs. In particular taking of Lamela for Winks - especially when Winks was so poor on Saturday.
Sadly it feels like all our worst fears have been realized.
Got to applaud Liverpool - hope they win the lot. Nice engaging manager - a young team of great players who play great football - a number of them you and british too. A top class team and a top class manager with a board that backs them to go and win things.

If the team is playing badly the atmosphere will almost always be poor. The only place that isn't the case is when the team is so poor that nobody cares about the game...
There is some real delusion here about Liverpool not being that good and the margins being fine.
It prob should have been a 4-0 win for Liverpool and it was probably the most one sided home defeat we have had for 3 or 4 years.

The game was not in any way winnable - Liverpool are on a completely different level to us all over the pitch and should have won by 4 or 5 were it not for profligate finishing.
Our team is not young any more - all of our team are significantly older and very inferior to their Liverpool...
